After months of negative headlines, DE Muhammad Wilkerson surprisingly signed a 5-year, $86 million deal with the Jets on Friday. The contract includes $36.75 million in guarantees, according to ESPN.com. We hadn't downgraded Wilkerson's 2016 outlook without the long-term deal, so the contract doesn't affect our IDP projection. It doesn't hurt to add a little certainty to his future. We'll see how the D-line rotation works in the 2nd year of Wilkerson playing with Sheldon Richardson and Leonard Williams. Wilkerson's new deal calls into question the chances of Richardson signing beyond his current contract, which runs through 2017.

Packers DE Muhammad Wilkerson left today's game at Washington on a cart after suffering an ankle injury. He has already been ruled out for the rest of the game. We'll see about the diagnosis.

The Packers on Tuesday agreed to a terms with DE Muhammad Wilkerson, according to ESPN's Rob Demovsky. Wilkerson struggled through arguably his worst pro season in 2017, dealing with shoulder and foot injuries and losing late-season time to attitude issues. But he'll still be just 28 when the 2018 season begins and will reunite with new Packers DC Mike Pettine, the Jets DC for Wilkerson's 1st 2 pro campaigns. Wilkerson retains plenty of IDP upside for 2018 and beyond.

Jets HC Todd Bowles refused to say Friday whether DE Muhammad Wilkerson will return to the lineup for Sunday's game against the Chargers. He practiced in full every day this week after getting benched for a rules violation in Week 15, but NJ.com reports that Wilkerson saw "very little work" in practice and "wasn't involved in the game plan." We'll see about his active status Sunday morning, but we can't bet on Wilkerson playing if you're weighing him against a Saturday player.

Jets HC Todd Bowles announced Friday that DE Muhammad Wilkerson will not travel with the team for Sunday's game against the Saints. He did not give a reason, but NJ.com reports that Wilkerson was late for a team meeting Friday. IDP owners obviously need to make other plans, but he was a low-level option anyway.

Jets DE Muhammad Wilkerson (foot) is active for today's game against the Panthers and fine to use as you normally would. He has been playing through questionable tags all season.
