The Saints have placed RB Shane Vereen on IR. He reportedly injured his hand in Thursday night's preseason finale. The 29-year-old mustered just 3.1 yards per carry and 4.6 yards per catch this preseason. New Orleans will run with Alvin Kamara, Jonathan Williams and Boston Scott atop the RB depth chart to open the season.

There's early-season opportunity with Ingram suspended for the first 4 games, but Vereen seemingly has an overlapping skill set with Kamara. He's not worth a roster spot in fantasy leagues right now.
