The Bucs have placed TE Cameron Brate on IR with the back injury he suffered in last week's loss to the Saints. He'll miss the season finale against the Panthers. It's a disappointing end to what was an impressive year for Brate. He hauled in 57 balls for 660 yards and a TE-high 8 TDs. He's currently sitting 6th at the position in PPR points. Brate should be back as Tampa Bay's starter in 2017.
Bucs TE Cameron Brate (ribs) is active for today’s game in Seattle. He put in a full practice on Friday, so we’re not overly concerned about the rib injury. Brate is a viable Week 9 spot starter vs. the Seahawks’ 29th-ranked TE defense.
Bucs TE Cameron Brate (ribs) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game against the Seahawks. He was sidelined on Wednesday, limited on Thursday and a full-go on Friday. So Brate should be fine for this weekend's game vs. Seattle's 29th-ranked TE defense. With TE O.J. Howard (hamstring) out, Brate is squarely in the TE1 mix.
Bucs TE Cameron Brate (ribs) joined TE O.J. Howard on the sidelines for Wednesday's practice. We don't have any more information on Brate, who never exited last week's game against the Titans. Tampa promoted TE Jordan Leggett from the practice squad, hinting at at least some concern over Brate's Week 9 availability. We'll get another update tomorrow.
Bucs TE Cameron Brate underwent surgery last week to repair a torn labrum in his hip, ESPN's Jenna Laine reports. Brate played the "majority" of the season with the injury, according to Laine. That helps explain a disappointing 2018 campaign that saw him finish with 3-year lows in catches (30), yards (289) and yards per catch (9.6). Brate is expected to be sidelined for a few months, and the Bucs are hoping he'll be a full-go by June minicamp.
The Bucs have signed TE Cameron Brate to a 6-year, $41 million contract. It's a bit surprising that they're willing to invest so much in Brate after spending a 1st-round pick on TE O.J. Howard last spring. Both guys will be big parts of the offense moving forward, but the move is a bit of a hit to Howard's dynasty value. Brate has hauled in 105 of 158 targets (66.5%) for 1,251 yards and 14 TDs over the past 2 seasons. Only 7 TEs have totaled more PPR points during that stretch.
