Colts owner Jim Irsay put a sunny spin on QB Andrew Luck's offseason shoulder surgery. "This [surgery] has been a positive thing, not a negative thing or anything like that," Irsay said. "He was really struggling going through the process of being ready to play [each week last season]. This was, quite frankly, not that complicated of a surgery. This was a simple labrum repair. There are a lot of other things that could have been involved with this surgery that weren't." Irsay didn't give a timetable for Luck's return to the field, though. Luck offered only this: "Feeling great. Rehab is going well. It's a long and patient process." His status will be 1 of the biggest storylines of the summer. Luck has come off the board in the early 5th round of recent MFL10 drafts.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Colts QB Andrew Luck has decided to retire. Luck has reportedly already talked to team management about his decision. Jacoby Brissett now takes over the starting gig. This appears to be a shocking move to everyone. Schefter reports that Luck feels "worn down." The QB switch lowers the ceiling for everyone in the Indy offense. The Colts finished 30th in points and 31st in scoring in 2017, with Luck sidelined (shoulder) and Brissett starting.

Beyond the fact that this has been a problem since the spring, it's troubling that the team still doesn't seem to know exactly what's wrong with its star QB. It's turned Luck into an extremely risky fantasy pick -- at least until we see him back on the field.
