Vikings RB Latavius Murray (ankle) has been activated from the PUP list. He ended up missing about 2 weeks of camp -- on top of all spring workouts. In the meantime, rookie RB Dalvin Cook has seemingly seized the starting job. We'll see if Murray can make a move over the next month, but he's no more than a late-round flier in fantasy drafts right now.

Recent Shark Bites

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Saints have agreed to a 4-year, $14.4 million deal with RB Latavius Murray. That positions him as the replacement for Mark Ingram, who will also hit unrestricted free agency Wednesday. Murray sports a similar skill set and should present a fantasy outlook similar to Ingram's. Of course, Ingram's inconsistent workload was the frustrating thing for fantasy owners. As long as his ADP remains modest, however, Murray will make sense as an RB3 or even an RB4 in fantasy football drafts.

Vikings HC Mike Zimmer said he’s unsure when RB Latavius Murray (ankle surgery) will return to practice. "He is a smart guy but he needs to get healthy,” Zimmer said from training camp. Murray added that it’s “frustrating” to be a spectator at practice and would only say he’ll be ready to suit up for the season opener. Murray’s absence has allowed rookie Dalvin Cook to shine in early training camp sessions.

Vikings RB Latavius Murray (ankle) has been placed on the active PUP list to begin training camp. He's eligible to be activated at any time. Still, he's behind the 8 ball after undergoing surgery on March 22 and missing all of offseason workouts. He needs to get on the field in a hurry if he wants to beat out rookie Dalvin Cook for the lead job.

Vikings RB Latavius Murray (ankle) declined to guarantee that he'll be ready for the start of training camp. “The goal is just to try to be available during training camp at some point,” he said. “Right now, everything is pointing toward that. I’m just going to trust the process and not rush the process.” Murray underwent ankle surgery on March 22 and just got out of his walking boot this week. He still hasn't been cleared to run. Meanwhile, RBs Dalvin Cook and Jerick McKinnon are soaking up reps. Murray can't afford to miss much training-camp time.

The Vikings announced that RB Latavius Murray underwent ankle surgery on Wednesday. The team was aware of the issue when it signed Murray to a 3-year, $15 million deal last week. We don't have any details on Murray's injury or the procedure, but the Vikings expect him to be back to 100% for the start of training camp. Still, missing OTAs and minicamp with his new team isn't ideal.
