The Packers have traded S Ha Ha Clinton-Dix to Washington. He should quickly earn the starting slot next to S D.J. Swearinger with his new team, though it'd probably be asking a bit much for Clinton-Dix to assume that role in Week 9. Green Bay, meanwhile, figures to start Jermaine Whitehead in Clinton-Dix's vacated slot. Whithead played nearly all of the snaps in Sunday's loss to the Rams after topping out previously at 67%. Kentrell Brice should remain in the lineup next to him. We'll see if Josh Jones works in significantly as a 3rd safety.

The Cowboys on Thursday released S Ha Ha Clinton-Dix. It's an unfortunate turn for a veteran free agent Dallas signed this offseason to take over for Jeff Heath at SS. But it's not surprising. Multiple reporters mentioned Clinton-Dix trending toward losing the starting gig to Darian Thompson. Clinton-Dix's release makes Thompson a deep IDP sleeper in a role that has seen productive turns under DC Mike Nolan through multiple coaching stops. A 3rd-round pick by the Giants back in 2016, Thompson spent 2 injury-affected years there before spending the past 2 as a reserve with the Cowboys. Thompson will turn just 27 in September, though, and delivered big plays in coverage back at Boise State (19 INTs in 4 seasons, including 12 over his final 2).

The Bears on Tuesday activated S Ha Ha Clinton-Dix from the PUP list and he took part in his 1st training-camp practice with the team. Clinton-Dix should be in line to start next to FS Eddie Jackson.

Bears GM Ryan Pace expects S Ha Ha Clinton-Dix to begin training camp on the PUP list because of a knee sprain he suffered "at the very end of the offseason program," the team website reports. This doesn't sound like a big issues that will challenge the safety's regular-season status. We'll keep an eye on Clinton-Dix's status, though.

S Ha Ha Clinton-Dix has signed a 1-year deal with the Bears. He'll take over the SS role vacated by Adrian Amos' departure for Green BAy. Clinton-Dix spent the final 9 games with Washington after Green Bay traded him away last season. He delivered top-10 fantasy scoring, at least his 3rd season in DB1 scoring range, depending on your format. Clinton-Dix should have another shot at solid IDP production with the Bears. Amos didn't post big stats last year but scored as a DB1 the season before over 13 games.

The Packers spent the 21st pick of the NFL draft on Alabama S Ha Ha Clinton-Dix.  He should easily grab the starting job right away next to S Morgan Burnett, making up a strong and versatile back end.  Both could deliver solid IDP value, though Burnett remains the stronger option.  Green Bay still must show that its pass rush has improved before climbing the team D ranks for your fantasy league.
