Jaguars add Thompson | Shark Bites | Draft Sharks

The Jaguars have signed RB Chris Thompson to a 1-year deal. He's reuniting with OC Jay Gruden in Jacksonville after the pair spent the past 6 seasons together in Washington. Thompson has struggled with injuries throughout his career but averaged 3.4 catches and 29 receiving yards per game over the last 5 years. If healthy, he figures to take a big bite out of RB Leonard Fournette's pass-catching production.

Recent Shark Bites

Redskins RB Chris Thompson (toe) is active for today’s game against the Panthers. It’ll be his 1st action since Week 6. Thompson should step back in as Washington’s primary pass-catching back but would be a desperation fantasy play today. RB Wendell Smallwood is a healthy scratch.

Redskins RB Chris Thompson (toe) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Panthers after a limited week of practice. Insider J.P. Finlay hears that Thompson is expected to play. He figures to replace Wendell Smallwood as Washington’s pass-catching back and will continue to put a cap on RB Derrius Guice’s receiving upside.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Washington is "not optimistic" that RB Chris Thompson will be able to play today against the Lions. Thompson is questionable with the toe injury that cost him the past 4 games and continued to limit his practice time this week. Schefter reports that the team will test him out in pregame warm-ups before a final decision. Thompson's continued absence would leave snaps and touches for Derrius Guice and Wendell Smallwood.

Redskins RB Chris Thompson (toe) put in a limited practice on Wednesday -- his 1st since going down back in Week 6. We'll see if he's able to return for Sunday's game against the Lions. Thompson would figure to replace Wendell Smallwood as Washington's primary passing-down back and put a dent in Derrius Guice's stock.

Redskins RB Chris Thompson (toe) is out for Sunday’s game against the Jets. RB Derrius Guice is set to return from his knee injury and will form a committee backfield alongside Adrian Peterson. It’s a situation to try to avoid vs. a surprisingly stout Jets run defense.
