Jets LB Avery Williamson put in a limited practice Wednesday. He did the same to begin Week 1 but then missed Thursday and Friday workouts before sitting out the opener in Buffalo with his injured hamstring. We'll see about his participation the rest of this week. If Williamson can't go, Harvey Langi would start next to Neville Hewitt.
Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that the Jets are "working toward a trade" that would send LB Avery Williamson to the Steelers. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirmed the report. The NFL trade deadline looms Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET, so we'll see whether the move gets finalized. If it does, Williamson would likely take over the ILB spot vacated by Devin Bush's injury, which Robert Spillane has filled the past 2 weeks. The Jets figure to go back to Blake Cashman to fill in Williamson's spot, as soon as Cashman is ready. He was inactive for Sunday's game against the Chiefs with a hamstring injury.
Update: The deal will be Williamson and a 2022 seventh-rounder for a 2022 fifth-rounder, according to The MMQB's Albert Breer.
Jets ILB Avery Williamson (hamstring) is active. He missed Week 1 and arrived to this weekend questionable. Williamson will be tough to bet on in IDP lineups in his first action since a preseason 2019 ACL tear. But he's likely to at least take playing time from either Neville Hewitt or Harvey Langi -- and perhaps both in rotation. None makes for a strong fantasy option, though we'd play Hewitt first among them.
Jets ILB Avery Williamson (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's game against the 49ers. He sat out Week 1, saw limited activity throughout training camp and remained limited in practice this week. That all makes Williamson a high-risk IDP option even if he's active and starting. If Williamson is back, then LB Harvey Langi would be tough to use in IDP lineups. We'll see what the team reveals about the situation Sunday morning.
Jets ILB Avery Williamson tore his right ACL in Thursday night's preseason game against the Falcons and will miss the season, according to multiple reports. Neville Hewitt sits next on the current "unofficial" depth chart, though rookie Blake Cashman could compete for the spot. The injury leaves C.J. Mosley as the only draftable Jets LB in most IDP leagues.
Titans ILB Avery Williamson is inactive for today's game against the Dolphins because of a hamstring injury. That should leave Wesley Woodyard and Zach Brown starting in his place. Neither makes for a strong IDP starting option, but both bring some upside in deeper fantasy football leagues.
