Bucs RB Ronald Jones will have surgery on Tuesday to have a pin placed in his broken pinky finger, the Tampa Bay Times' Rick Stroud reports. Stroud notes that this is similar to the injury Chris Godwin had earlier this season. Godwin ended up missing 1 game. Jones hasn't yet been ruled out for this weekend's game vs. the Falcons, but fantasy owners should at least make plans to be without him. Jones' absence would leave Tampa with RBs Leonard Fournette, LeSean McCoy and Ke'Shawn Vaughn. Despite being a healthy scratch last week, Fournette is the best candidate to take over as lead back if Jones sits.
Bucs RB Ronald Jones (quad, finger) is active for tonight's game against the Saints. HC Bruce Arians said earlier this week that RB Leonard Fournette would get the start regardless of Jones' status, making Fournette the better fantasy bet.
Bucs RB Ronald Jones (quad, finger) has "a good shot to play" vs. the Saints today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Jones participated in Saturday's walkthrough, although a final decision on his availability won't come until he gets to the stadium today. We'll find out whether Jones is active around 5 pm ET. HC Bruce Arians said earlier this week that RB Leonard Fournette will get the start regardless of Jones' status.
Bucs HC Bruce Arians labeled RB Ronald Jones (quad, finger) a game-time decision for Sunday's Divisional Round tilt vs the Saints. Arians added that RB Leonard Fournette will get the start regardless of Jones' status. That obviously doesn't guarantee that Fournette will end up leading the backfield in touches, but he's coming off a nice performance in last week's win and is the healthier of the 2 backs. Fournette looks like the better fantasy play this weekend.
Bucs RB Ronald Jones (quad, finger) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. We'll see what he does on Friday and how he's listed on the final injury report for Sunday's game vs. the Saints.
