Desperate Giants Bring Back Odell Beckham Jr.

The Giants are signing WR Odell Beckham Jr., according to multiple reports. Beckham started his pro career in New York, where he averaged 1,374 yards and 11.7 TDs over his first three seasons. Injuries have been a problem since, most notably a fractured ankle in 2017 and a torn ACL in 2020. Beckham was traded to Cleveland in between those two injuries in 2019. He also bounced to the Rams, Ravens, and Dolphins over the past few seasons. Beckham now re-joins the Giants, who have a rehabbing Malik Nabers and very little else at WR.

Malik Nabers Might Not Be Ready For Week 1

Giants HC John Harbaugh admitted Thursday that WR Malik Nabers (knee) is uncertain for the start of the season. "If he's out there, great. [If] he's not out there, great. You know, we'll be ready to go either way," Harbaugh said. "But I know he's fighting like crazy to do his best to be out there, and he's with the guys every day."

What's A Second Knee Surgery Mean For Malik Nabers?

Giants WR Malik Nabers underwent a second surgery on the knee he injured last September, The Athletic's Dan Duggan reports. The procedure took place "multiple weeks ago" and removed scar tissue that was causing stiffness, per Duggan. "This second surgery isn't expected to impact Nabers' recovery timeline. The team is still hoping the No. 1 WR will be ready for the opener," Duggan adds.

        Giants Add WR Malachi Fields

The New York Giants selected Notre Dame WR Malachi Fields with the 74th pick overall in Round 3 of the 2026 NFL Draft. Fields bet on himself after earning third-team All-ACC honors at Virginia in 2024 (58-808-5), transferring to Notre Dame for his fifth season. The spotlight got brighter, but the production didn’t. Fields tallied 36 catches, 640 yards, and 5 TDs for a run-leaning offense. He ranked second on the team in target share, reception share, and receiving yards share. Fields’ statistical decline raised questions about how much situation drove his earlier output. But his traits still demand attention. At 6’4 and 220 pounds, Fields looks the part of an NFL boundary receiver. He brings a wide catch radius, dependable hands in space, and better run-after-catch ability than most receivers his size.

        Giants Grab Arvell Reese

Ohio State LB Arvell Reese landed with the Giants as the fifth pick of the NFL Draft. Reese figures to play primarily on the edge in the pros but has seen limited action in that spot to date.

Cam Skattebo Can Escape A Baby Hippo

Giants RB Cam Skattebo said on a recent appearance on the Rich Eisen Show that he's running at about 75% as he works back from his right leg and ankle injuries. "I can get away from like a baby hippo, maybe," Skattebo added. "That's about it. But, yeah, a little bit over a jog. Just kind of striding out, not exploding yet and getting into that part of the game, but the jog and the striding." Skattebo expects to be back to 100% in "about a month" and ready to go for training camp.

Darnell Mooney Finds Opportunity with Giants

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that the Giants are expected to sign WR Darnell Mooney to a one-year deal worth "up to" $10 million. Mooney spent the past two years with the Falcons after arriving as a free agent, but the team released him ahead of the final season of that contract. He played his first four years in Chicago, where Mooney interestingly posted his two largest reception-per-game rates in his first and second seasons (3.8 and 4.8).

Isaiah Likely Lands First Starting Gig

The Giants are expected to sign TE Isaiah Likely. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that he's getting a three-year deal worth $40 million, "with upside to $47.5M." Likely spent his first four seasons with the Ravens after arriving as a fourth-round pick in 2022. This is his first shot at free agency.

        Bears Cutting Tremaine Edmunds Loose

The Bears are releasing LB Tremain Edmunds, according to multiple reports. The move snips the final season of a four-year contract and saves the team about $15 million in cap space. Edmunds started 45 of a possible 51 games across his three years with Chicago.

Matt Nagy Clouds the Giants’ Breakout Chances

The Giants are hiring Matt Nagy as their OC, according to multiple reports. Todd Monken was reportedly HC John Harbaugh's top choice for the job. But, like Harbaugh, Nagy has strong ties to Andy Reid. Nagy started his coaching career under Reid in Philadelphia and spent the past four seasons with Reid in Kansas City, serving as OC for the last three.

Giants Tap Coordinator with Extensive DB Experience

The Giants are signing Dennard Wilson to be their new defensive coordinator. Wilson spent the past two years running a Tennessee defense that hasn't been awesome but probably performed better than you think. The Titans ranked 21st in total yards allowed last season; second in 2024. The team also finished a decent 17th in defensive DVOA in Wilson's first season (down to 29th in 2025). This year's unit improved against the run over the second half, after DT Jeffery Simmons returned from a mid-season injury. Wilson's NFL run dates back to 2009, when he started as a pro scout with the Bears. He worked under Lovie Smith there ahead of turns with the Rams, Jets, Eagles, and Ravens. Walker spent 2023 as DBs coach under new Giants HC John Harbaugh before taking the Titans job.

        Giants Land John Harbaugh

The Giants are finalizing a deal to hire John Harbaugh as their new HC. It's a five-year deal that will make Harbaugh one of the league's highest-paid coaches, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Harbaugh is coming off an 18-year run with the Ravens, winning 61.4% of his regular season games and Super Bowl 47. It's a strong hire for New York. But Harbaugh worked his way up through the ranks as a special teams coach. That makes the rest of his offensive staff key to figuring out what this Giants attack will look like going forward. The Athletic's Dianna Russini reports that former Ravens OC Todd Monken is expected to join Harbaugh in New York, although it's unclear if he'll hold the same title. We'll keep you updated on how this Giants staff comes together -- and what it means for QB Jaxson Dart, WR Malik Nabers, and the rest of the offense.

Malik Nabers Iffy For Start Of 2026 Season

Giants WR Malik Nabers admitted Monday that he's iffy to be ready for the 2026 opener. "Not really sure," Nabers said. "If my body doesn’t feel right, then I’m not gonna go out there.” Nabers underwent surgery on October 28 for what was reported as a torn ACL and meniscus damage. He'll be about 10.5 months removed from surgery when the 2026 season kicks off. But Nabers was spotted prior to Sunday's finale vs. the Cowboys using a crutch and with a bulky brace on his right knee. We'll keep tabs on his progress throughout the offseason. But early fantasy drafters should consider him no better than 50/50 to be ready for Week 1.

        Tyrone Tracy Maintains Lead-Back Role

Very little went right for the Giants in Week 16, but RB Tyrone Tracy continued to lead New York's backfield in playing time and production. Tracy out-touched Devin Singletary 18-12 and accounted for 55.3% of the Giants' total yards in the team's 16-13 loss to the Vikings. Tracy also commanded a 35-21 lead over Singletary in snaps.

Tremaine Edmunds Looks Ready to Play

The Bears on Friday activated LB Tremaine Edmunds from IR. He's officially questionable for today's game against the Packers, but that move suggests he's likely to return to the lineup. We'll confirm his status once the inactives are announced 90 minutes before kickoff. Edmunds presents some risk in his first game back from a groin strain, but the upside makes him worth getting into most IDP lineups.
