Confirmed: Shedeur Sanders Starts Week 9

Browns QB Shedeur Sanders will start this weekend’s game vs. the Saints, HC Todd Monken announced on Friday. QB Deshaun Watson (concussion) is listed as questionable after returning to practice on Friday, so he might be available for backup duties. Sanders completed just 57% of his passes at 6.6 yards per attempt as a rookie last year. We’re projecting him as a slight downgrade from Watson for Cleveland’s passing game.

A.J. Brown Out For Week 9

Patriots WR A.J. Brown (knee, ankle) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Packers. He didn’t practice all week and has no timetable for return from his knee trouble. Brown’s absence again leaves New England with WRs Demario Douglas, Kyle Williams, and Efton Chism, with WR Mack Hollins (calf) potentially coming off IR for Sunday’s game.

Bam Knight Out For Week 9

Cardinals RB Bam Knight (concussion) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Seahawks. With RB Jeremiyah Love (ankle) on IR, Arizona is down to RBs Tyler Allgeier and Evan Hull, with Jerome Ford on the practice squad. Allgeier should dominate work, landing him 25th in our Week 9 RB rankings, despite the tough matchup.

TreVeyon Henderson Recovering From Medical Emergency

Patriots RB TreVeyon Henderson was hospitalized for "several days" with an "unexpected and unusual medical emergency involving a series of unexplained neurological symptoms," he said in a statement. Tests have come back positive, but Henderson's strength, coordination, and physical functions have been impacted, Henderson added. We'll keep you updated on his status, but it doesn't sound like Henderson will be playing football again any time soon. He's droppable from most redraft rosters. Henderson's absence leaves Rhamondre Stevenson's as New England's lead back and Corey Kiner as the No. 2. Kiner is worth stashing as a handcuff.

Garrett Wilson Out For Week 9

Jets WR Garrett Wilson (concussion) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Chiefs. He was always a long shot to get cleared after being diagnosed with a concussion sometime after last weekend's game. Wilson should have a good chance to make it back for Week 10. His absence frees up 26.4% of Jets targets, boosting both Omar Cooper and Adonai Mitchell into our top-36 WRs.

Another Easy Jaguars Win Leaves Trevor Lawrence With Another Light Fantasy Line

Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence diced the Ravens for 9.3 yards per pass attempt in Thursday night's win. He found TE Nate Boerkircher deep downfield for 52 yards after extending a play on a rollout in the first quarter and later hit WR Parker Washington up the seam for a 50-yard catch-and-run TD. That put Jacksonville up 17 to 3 just before halftime, and the score never got closer. Lawrence threw just 11 passes in the second half of the easy win, finishing with an underwhelming 242-1-0 passing line.

Emeka Egbuka On Track For Week 9 Return

Buccaneers WR Emeka Egbuka (foot) returned to a full practice on Thursday. That puts him on track to play vs. the Bears on Sunday night for the first time since Week 6. Egbuka has played just three games with QB Baker Mayfield this season, posting 5-63-0, 3-16-1, and 5-62-0 lines. He checks in 24th in our Week 9 WR rankings.

        Bhayshul Tuten Active

Jaguars RB Bhayshul Tuten (foot, ankle) is active for tonight's game vs. the Ravens. He didn't practice at all on the short week and was listed as questionable, but he evidently felt and looked good enough in pre-game warmups. Giants RB Cam Skattebo (hamstring) remained sidelined for Thursday's practice. He's looking like a long shot to play vs. the Eagles this weekend. Harold Fannin Added To Injury Report With Groin

Browns TE Harold Fannin was added to the injury report with a groin and limited in practice on Thursday. Breece Hall Set For Week 9 Return, Is He Still The Lead Back?

Jets RB Breece Hall (quad) was upgraded to full participation on Thursday and confirmed that he'll return for this weekend's game vs. the Chiefs. The question now becomes how work will be divvied between Hall and RB Braelon Allen, who's been excellent over the last four games. Here's what OC Frank Reich said of the situation on Thursday: "It’s a great problem to have, we’ve got two No. 1 backs. Breece is obviously the bellcow, he’s our guy, but it will be a mix. As far as hot hand, I think that’s always an in-game feel thing." We'll look for more clues on the backfield split leading up to kickoff. It's a tough spot for both guys with the Jets 10-point underdogs to the Chiefs' 13th-ranked RB defense.

More Work Coming For Omarion Hampton?

Chargers HC Jim Harbaugh suggested earlier this week that the team might move away from a 3-RB rotation going forward. "Yeah, maybe," Harbaugh said, per The Athletic's Noah Furtado. "I think that's something that we're looking at, and I think we'll try that, yeah." OC Mike McDaniel then said Thursday that RB Omarion Hampton has had a "really great week of prep. ... I'm excited about someone dictating the rotation."

Kyler Murray "Week To Week" With Hamstring Injury

Vikings HC Kevin O'Connell labeled QB Kyler Murray "week to week" with his hamstring injury and confirmed that QB Carson Wentz will start Monday night's game vs. the Bills. Murray's injury turned out to be more than just soreness, as we predicted earlier this week. We'll keep tabs on his status, but Murray seems likely to miss multiple games. He's droppable in 1-QB fantasy leagues.

Kyler Murray Trending Toward Missing Week 9

Vikings QB Kyler Murray's status for Monday night's game vs. the Bills is "at best up in the air," according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Schefter adds that QB Carson Wentz is trending toward starting that game. Murray came out of last week's loss to the Lions with what the team called hamstring tightness, although we believe it's likely a low-grade strain. We'll track his practice participation over the next few days, but fantasy managers should not be planning on having Murray for Week 9 lineups.

Mike Evans & Deebo Samuel Sidelined Wednesday

49ers WRs Mike Evans (ribs, Achilles) and Deebo Samuel (hamstring) did not practice on Wednesday. Samuel seems likely to miss another game with his hamstring injury. Evans' status is murkier. "I think we've made a lot of progress," HC Kyle Shanahan said of Evans on Wednesday morning. "I think he's going in the right direction and it's something we definitely got to be smart with, but we're not going to overly do it. We just want to wait till he's healthy, and he's still working his way to get there." WR Demarcus Robinson (ankle) returned to a limited practice on Wednesday, giving him a chance to play this weekend for the first time since Week 2.
