Michael Penix Ready To Save Falcons Passing Game?

Falcons QB Cooper Rush will start today's game vs. the Panthers, but QB Michael Penix is "nearing a return" and could make his debut vs. the Packers on Thursday night, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Penix is working his way back from an ACL tear but was fully cleared in mid-August. He and Rush reportedly split first-team reps in practice this week. Penix is no superstar, but he'll be a big upgrade from Rush. WR Drake London will be especially excited to see Penix back. London averaged 20.4 PPR points per game with Penix vs. 13.9 without him across the 2024 and 2025 seasons. Consider buying low on London and TE Kyle Pitts over the next few days, especially if they struggle again vs. the Panthers today.

Keenan Allen Facing 3+ Game Suspension, But Maybe Not This Season

Colts WR Keenan Allen is facing a minimum 3-game suspension for his DUI arrest in August, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. But the league could opt for a longer ban because Allen's blood alcohol content was so high. Schefter confirms, though, that the league will wait for the legal process to play out before issuing the suspension. It's unclear exactly when the case will be wrapped, but the next hearing is not scheduled until October 26. It seems like there's a good chance Allen's suspension doesn't come until 2027, but we'll keep you updated on the situation. Allen ran a route on 76% of pass plays in the opener, tying for the team lead with a 19.4% target share. His absence would boost the target projections for Josh Downs, Alec Pierce, and Tyler Warren.

Ugh. Puka Nacua A Game-Time Decision

Rams WR Puka Nacua (hip) will be a "pre-game" decision for tomorrow night's contest vs. the Giants, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Nacua is listed as questionable after missing practice on Friday and Saturday. He's listed on the injury report with a hip, but HC Sean McVay said Saturday that Nacua is dealing with a "little bit of soreness" in his groin. McVay also said this isn't the same issue that sidelined Nacua in August (which we're not sure is good or bad). Nacua owners are in a tough spot with the late kickoff. Giants WR Malachi Fields and Rams TE Terrance Ferguson (in a flex spot) are the best replacement options from Monday night's game, but neither is particularly strong. We'll see if we hear anything else on Nacua before the early games kick off today.

R.J. Harvey "Unlikely" To Play Week 2

Broncos RB R.J. Harvey (hamstring) is "unlikely" to play vs. the Jaguars today, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Harvey is listed as questionable after getting in limited practices on Thursday and Friday. He led Denver's backfield with a 53% snap rate and 45% route rate in trailing game script last week, finishing with 3 carries and 4 targets. Harvey's absence would be a slight boost to RB J.K. Dobbins' Week 2 outlook. But expect a role for RB Jonah Coleman, and RB Tyler Badie to potentially play a passing-down role.

Jalen McMillan Won't Be Full-Time Today

Buccaneers WR Jalen McMillan (knee) is expected to play vs. the Browns today but not in a full-time role, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. McMillan was a full participant in practice all week but is listed as questionable after missing the opener. It sounds like he'll split snaps with rookie WR Ted Hurst in his 2026 debut. Neither guy should be in Week 2 fantasy lineups.

"Optimism" That Ladd McConkey Plays Week 2

There's "optimism" that Chargers WR Ladd McConkey (rib) will play vs. the Raiders today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. McConkey is dealing with a cracked rib, per Rapoport, and will wear a flak jacket if suits up. There's serious risk of an in-game setback here if McConkey takes a big hit, but there's also a chance he makes it through the game unaffected by the injury. McConkey was heavily involved before going down last week, catching 5 of 7 targets for 82 yards and a score in a little less than 3 quarters of action.

Kaelon Black Expected To Play Week 2

49ers RB Kaelon Black (groin) is expected to play vs. the Dolphins today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The rookie was added to the injury report on Thursday and then limited again in Friday’s practice before being listed as questionable. Black carried 14 times in the opener and should get positive game script today with the 49ers big favorites. But the groin issue adds obvious risk to his profile. Check your Team Dashboard to see if he belongs in your starting lineup.

Chris Olave Expected To Play Week 2

Saints WR Chris Olave (hamstring) is expected to play vs. the Ravens today, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Olave will carry elevated risk after being added to Thursday's injury report and remaining limited in Friday's practice. But he'd be virtually impossible to leave out of fantasy lineups after exploding for 182 yards in the opener.

Nico Collins Expected To Miss 2 Games

Insider Aaron Wilson hears that the "current expectation" is for WR Nico Collins to miss 2 games with his hamstring injury. Collins was diagnosed with the lowest grade of hamstring strain, Wilson reported earlier this week, but it sounds like he'll miss Sunday's game vs. the Bengals and Week 3 vs. the Colts. His absence leaves Houston with WRs Kayshon Boutte, Jaylin Noel, Xavier Hutchinson, Jared Wayne, and Lewis Bond. It's a situation to avoid in Week 2 fantasy lineups. We'll see how the group is used against Cincinnati before determining whether there's fantasy value in Week 3.

Zay Flowers Out For Week 2

Ravens WR Zay Flowers (hamstring) has been downgraded to out for Sunday's game vs. the Saints. He returned to a limited practice on Friday, which has us optimistic about his chances of playing Week 3. With rookie Ja'Kobi Lane (wrist) on IR, Baltimore is thin at WR. We're projecting Rashod Bateman and Devontez Walker as the primary outside WRs, with LaJohntay Wester in the slot. We'd avoid the situation in fantasy lineups this week. TE Mark Andrews might be the team's best target bet and is a nice Week 2 starter.

Puka Nacua Out Again Saturday, Questionable For Week 2

Rams WR Puka Nacua (hip) will not practice today and will be listed as questionable for Monday night's game vs. the Giants, HC Sean McVay said. That's two missed practices in a row for Nacua after he was not listed on Thursday's injury report. We'll look for further updates on his status but might not find out whether he's playing until we get inactives around 7 pm ET on Monday. Nacua would carry elevate risk if he suits up but would still be a strong fantasy play. The late kickoff obviously puts fantasy managers in a tough spot, though. Malachi Fields and Jordan Whittington are the top widely available players from that game that can be added as insurance. TE Terrance Ferguson could also see a spike in usage if Nacua sits and could be used in place of Nacua in a flex spot.

Update: Whittington will be listed as doubtful with a quad injury, McVay said. That leaves Davante Adams, Xavier Smith, Konata Mumpfield, Tutu Atwell, and C.J. Daniels as the Rams' healthy WRs.

        Omar Cooper To IR

The Jets placed WR Omar Cooper on IR with his ankle injury. The rookie is out for the next 4 games and can be dropped from redraft rosters without an IR spot. Isaiah Williams projects to take over Cooper's slot role but won't garner many targets. That'll leave extra volume for WR Garrett Wilson, WR Adonai Mitchell, and perhaps TE Kenyon Sadiq.

Tory Horton Back For Week 2

Eddy Pineiro Questionable For Week 2

49ers K Eddy Pineiro (illness) did not practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Dolphins. Kaelon Black Questionable For Week 2

49ers RB Kaelon Black (groin) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Dolphins. He was added to the injury report on Thursday and then limited again in Friday’s practice. Asked Friday how much optimism he has that Black will play this weekend, HC Kyle Shanahan said, "A questionable amount of optimism." Ok then. Black would be a shaky fantasy start at less than 100%. His absence would leave Jordan James as San Francisco’s No. 2 RB and likely mean more work for Christian McCaffrey.

Puka Nacua Out Friday With Hip Issue
