Emanuel Wilson Cruelly Gets the Workload Kenneth Walker Couldn't

Seahawks RB Emanuel Wilson racked up 21 carries for 81 yards and a TD in Sunday's win over the Chargers, adding 3 catches for 39 yards and another TD on 4 targets. He operated as the clear backfield leader ahead of George Holani (7 carries, 1 target) in the first game after Seattle placed rookie RB Jadarian Price on IR. The playing-time gap didn't up as large as the touch counts would signal, though. Wilson played 36 snaps (60% of the team total) to 22 for Holani. He ran 12 routes (46.2% of Seattle dropbacks) to Holani's 8.

        Y'all Remember Quentin Johnston?

Chargers WR Quentin Johnston managed just 1 catch among 2 targets in Sunday's loss at Seattle. That lone reception did gobble up 44 yards, at least, which landed him second among Chargers in receiving yards for the game. But he tied RB Omarion Hampton and WR Ladd McConkey (who left in the first half) for just fifth on the team in targets. Tre' Harris led the team's WRs with 5 targets and 3 catches for a team-high 60 yards.

Be Careful About How You Assess Oronde Gadsden's Week 4

TE Oronde Gadsden II drew a team-high 8 targets in Sunday's loss at Seattle. He turned that into 5 catches (tied for the team lead) and 36 yards (third). Gadsden got relatively involved early, leading the Chargers with 3 first-half targets, all of them before the middle of the second quarter. RB Keaton Mitchell ranked second with 6 targets. WR Tre Harris followed with 5.

Things Just Got Even Worse for Omarion Hampton

Chargers RB Omarion Hampton has gotten off to a rough usage start in four games under new OC Mike McDaniel. Sunday's loss to the Seahawks, however, marked the first time he has watched a teammate amass more carries. Keaton Mitchell rushed a team-high 10 times for 39 yards. Hampton drew 9 carries but did take them for 45 yards and a TD. Kimani Vidal rushed five times for 25 yards. Both Mitchell (6) and Vidal (3) beat Hampton's 2 targets. Hampton caught both of his for 8 yards. Mitchell tied for the team lead with 5 catches, gaining 24 yards. Vidal supplied 2 catches for 11 yards.

Feel Free to Drop Justin Herbert ... If You Haven't Already

Plenty of QBs have needed some assimilation time after a change in offensive scheme. But Justin Herbert's struggles under OC Mike McDaniel go well beyond that. Herbert endured another terrible outing in Sunday's loss at Seattle, tossing another 2 INTs amid a 19-for-31 line with 189 yards and a TD.

Jordyn Tyson Out At Least A Few More Weeks

Saints WR Jordyn Tyson (hamstring) is eligible to come off IR this week, but ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the rookie is still "weeks away" from a return. Tyson is "making progress and feeling good," per Schefter, but he's not expected to debut until Week 7 at the earliest. The Saints are wisely taking it slow with Tyson, who has been dealing with hamstring trouble for about a full year now. He's still worth keeping stashed as a potential second-half asset, but don't plan on getting Tyson into starting lineups until November.

Chase Brown Posts a Wild Stat Line

Bengals RB Chase Brown finished with only 10 yards on 9 carries in Sunday’s loss to the Jaguars. Cincinnati largely abandoned the run, instead asking Joe Burrow to attempt 54 passes. That allowed Brown to save his PPR day with 11 catches (on 11 targets) for 71 yards.

Zach Ertz Back Just for Cameos

TE Zach Ertz rejoined his original NFL team in the wake of Dallas Goedert's Week 2 MCL sprain. The veteran has played just a limited role in the two games since, though. He ran a mere 11 routes among Jalen Hurts' 32 dropbacks in Sunday's loss to the Rams. Ertz did garner 4 targets, but even that ranked just fourth on the team -- despite the Eagles also missing WR DeVonta Smith. Overall, Ertz has run a route on just 38.1% of Hurts' dropbacks and drawn a target on 11.5% of the QB's pass attempts.

Turns Out Darius Cooper Was the Play

The absence of WR DeVonta Smith (hamstring) for Sunday's loss to the Rams obviously elevated the role and importance for every remaining Eagles receiver. But neither Dontayvion Wicks nor rookie Makai Lemon led the group. Darious Cooper drew a team-high 7 targets, caught three of them for a team-high 33 yards, and scored both Eagles TDs. Lemon followed with a 3-27 receiving line on 6 targets, while Wicks went 3-18 on 5 targets. Philadelphia totaled just 93 passing yards for the game, as Jalen Hurts endured his lowest yardage output and worst completion rate (44.4%) of any pro game he's started and finished.

Jalen Hurts Posts Weird Stat Line in Loss

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts had already been missing TE Dallas Goedert (MCL sprain) and then lost WR DeVonta Smith for Sunday's game against the Rams. That obviously set him up for difficult passing situations. But Hurts' final line in the loss still came out strange. He threw for just 93 yards on 12-of-27 passing (44.4%). That marked the lowest yardage output and worst completion rate of Hurts' career for any game he has started and finished.

Here's the Big Problem for Tank Bigsby and Every Other Eagles RB

Tank Bigsby took over the Philadelphia backfield Sunday after Saquon Barkley left with a hamstring injury after his second carry. Bigsby carried 14 times for 55 yards (3.9 per rush) in the loss to the Rams. Will Shipley followed with 6 carries for 23 yards (3.8). Each guy finished with no catches on a single target. They played a matching 29 snaps, but Shipley got a slight boost from Bigsby leaving late in the fourth quarter with an apparent groin injury. Shipley took the remaining six plays.

Puka Effect Not as Bad as it Looks for Davante Adams

The Rams got WR Puka Nacua back from a two-game hip injury for Sunday's win over the Rams, and it seemed to knock Davante Adams' numbers off. The veteran wideout managed just 4 catches for 32 yards at Philly, ranking fourth on the team in both categories. But Adams played his highest route rate so far this season, staying on the field for 53 of Matthew Stafford's 54 dropbacks (98.1%). He checked in third in targets, trailing Nacua (12) and Kyren Williams (13). Adams' 9 targets accounted for 18% of Stafford's 50 targeted passes for the game.
