The Patriots acquired CB Aqib Talib from the Bucs before today's trade deadline. Talib has been one big off-field issue, but his play on the field is often terrific. He could win a starting job on the outside in New England before the year is over. Rookie CB Alfonzo Dennard has come on lately. CB Devin McCourty has spent some time at safety. With Bill Belichick, just about anything can happen. We'll be watching the Pats' secondary to see what happens.
Rams HC Sean McVay said during his press conference Tuesday that CB Aqib Talib will have surgery on his left ankle Thursday. McVay said they don't yet know how long Talib will be out and that doctors will determine the recovery timeline after surgery. Talib was initially diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain. His absence doesn't affect IDP owners but will be worth watching for any potential affect on the Rams' team defense and opposing WRs.
Rams CB Aqib Talib will miss at least a month after suffering a high-ankle sprain in Sunday's win over the Chargers, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. That doesn't impact IDP lineups, but it takes a good starting corner out of the Rams' defense for a while. Combine that with CB Marcus Peters' calf strain and the quick turnaround to play the Vikings this Thursday night, and the L.A. defense faces a decent challenge. That'll be good news for Kirk Cousins owners. We're not downgrading the Rams' team D for fantasy purposes on this news, though.
The Broncos have ruled CB Aqib Talib out for the 2nd straight week with back trouble. His absence didn't help the Chargers' passing game too much last week, but this Sunday features a showdown with Oakland WRs Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree. Denver's #3 CB, Bradley Roby, would be the #1 or #2 for most other teams, so even losing Talib doesn't significantly downgrade the Broncos secondary. Oakland doesn't have a 3rd receiving capable of pulling serious defensive attention away from the top 2 -- with Cooper the most dynamic threat. Don't alter your fantasy plan for the Oakland wideouts. Check our WR rankings to see just where we value them.
The Broncos made CB Aqib Talib a surprise inactive for today's game against the Chargers. Beat writer Mike Klis reports that Talib's "lower back acted up after he returned to practice Friday/Saturday." Denver remains in good shape at CB, with Chris Harris and Bradley Roby as the top 2, but losing Talib obviously hurts arguably the league's best secondary. Give San Diego's WRs a slight boost.
We know that the Jags aren't too excited about Fournette. Will his workload suffer as a result?9:07am EDT 7/31/20 Read More
