Raiders WR Andre Holmes fractured his hand in practice over the weekend and is expected to miss 3-4 weeks, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.  That puts his Week 1 availability in question.  Holmes posted a personal-best 47-693-4 line last season but was battling just for the #3 spot this year.  This injury kills his chance of assuming that spot early this season.  Don't bother with him in your redraft league. 

The Bills have added Andre Holmes to their ragtag WR group. He joins Philly Brown, Dezmin Lewis, Kolby Listenbee and Walt Powell behind Sammy Watkins. Holmes is probably the most intriguing name of the bunch. He turned in a 47-693-4 line for the Raiders in 2014 before being phased out the past 2 years. He's still only 28 and boasts a 6'4, 210-pound frame. Holmes will be worth keeping an eye on this summer. Buffalo, meanwhile, remains a candidate to use an early-round pick on a WR next month.

Raiders WR Andre Holmes has signed his restricted free-agent tender. That means he'll spend at least 2015 in Oakland, though the two sides could work out a different deal if they want. Holmes tied Mychal Rivera for 2nd on the team in targets last season, according to Pro Football Reference numbers, and could remain a significant part of the passing game in 2015. But many believe the Raiders will spend the 4th overall pick on 1 of the draft's top wideouts. Oakland has also met with free-agent WR Michael Crabtree. The fact that no other team signed Holmes to an offer sheet despite an original-round tender that would have required no compensation if the Raiders didn't match tells us not to expect too much from him going forward.

Raiders WR Andre Holmes is listed as a starter on the team's initial depth chart.  These early-August depth charts don't mean much, but Holmes' placement is worth noting nonetheless.  The former undrafted free agent goes 6'4, 210 pounds with 4.5 speed.  After totaling just 2 catches through his first 2 seasons, Holmes posted a 25-431-1 line last year.  He exploded for 136 yards against the Cowboys on Thanksgiving and then went for at least 58 yards in 3 of his final 4 games.  We'd still bet on WRs Rod Streater and James Jones finishing 1-2 in catches this season, but Holmes is certainly worth tracking over the next few weeks.  Meanwhile, WR Denarius Moore is listed on the 3rd-team and is off the fantasy radar for now.
