Bears WR Markus Wheaton fractured his left pinkie during Sunday's practice, HC John Fox said. He fractured the same finger back in 2013, had surgery and missed 4 games. It's unclear how long he'll be sidelined this time -- or if he'll simply play through it. Wheaton was limited in spring workouts coming off shoulder surgery and missed the first couple of weeks of training camp after undergoing an appendectomy. Kendall Wright operated as Chicago's #3 WR with Wheaton sidelined for the preseason opener.
Bears WR Markus Wheaton has a torn groin and is expected to miss 4-6 weeks, according to insider Adam Jahns. Wheaton hasn't been able to stay healthy since arriving in Chicago, undergoing an appendectomy, breaking his finger and now suffering this groin injury. Wheaton has made just 1 catch through 3 games and shouldn't be on any redraft radars. His absence leaves Kendall Wright, Tre McBride and Josh Bellamy as the Bears' top 3 WRs.
Bears WR Markus Wheaton (finger) put in a full week of practice and isn’t listed on the final injury report. He’ll make his 2017 debut on Sunday against the Steelers. Wheaton isn’t a fantasy option but does put a bit of a dent in WR Kendall Wright’s target projection.
Bears WR Markus Wheaton (finger) is inactive for today’s game against the Bucs. That leaves Kendall Wright as the best target bet among Chicago WRs. RB Tarik Cohen and TE Zach Miller should also be busy in the passing game.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport calls Bears WR Markus Wheaton (finger) a "much longer shot" than RB Jordan Howard to play today against the Bucs. It's a bit surprising after Wheaton put in 3 limited practices this week, but perhaps that broken pinkie isn't quite ready yet. We'll have his official status by noon ET today.
Bears WR Markus Wheaton (finger) put in a limited week of practice and is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Bucs. We’re expecting him to play, but Wheaton shouldn’t be in fantasy lineups. His return would put a dent in whatever fantasy value WR Kendall Wright had.
