ESPN's Rob Demovsky believes the Packers might be ready to shift from a committee backfield to the "Jamaal Williams Show." Williams has run as Green Bay's clear lead back in the preseason so far. "He's really poised to have a big year," HC Mike McCarthy said this week. "Clearly without playing a game yet, I think we'll be talking about him at the end of the season as a second-year player that's made the jump ... Jamaal was a heckuva player last year for us as a rookie, and now he's just so comfortable. He's so consistent, and like most rookies that go through an offseason, he's had a chance to catch his breath." Ty Montgomery still figures to steal some passing-game work. And we'll see what Aaron Jones does after his 2-game suspension. But Williams is clearly the Packers RB to own in fantasy football right now -- especially with an ADP sitting in Round 8.
Lions RB Jamaal Williams has been activated from the COVID list, putting him on track to return for this weekend's game vs. the Falcons. RB Craig Reynolds impressed in Williams' absence the past 2 weeks, so it's unclear what this backfield will look like the rest of the way. We'll look for clues leading up to Sunday's game.
Lions RB Jamaal Williams was not activated from the COVID list and is out for today’s game vs. the Cardinals. That again leaves Detroit’s backfield to Craig Reynolds, Godwin Igwebuike and Jermar Jefferson. Reynolds led the way with 11 carries and 2 targets last week, but HC Dan Campbell hinted that Jefferson could have a bigger role today. Reynolds is the best fantasy bet, but you should try to avoid this backfield.
Lions RB Jamaal Williams has been placed on the COVID list and won't play vs. the Broncos on Sunday. RB D'Andre Swift (shoulder) has been ruled out. That leaves Detroit with RBs Godwin Igwebuike and Jermar Jefferson. It's completely unclear how carries will be divvied, but Igwebuike played on passing downs last week, so he's the better fantasy play if you're forced to invest here. Avoiding the backfield is your best bet, though.
Lions RB Jamaal Williams (thigh) is active for today’s game vs. the Browns. He’d be a desperation play but does figure to steal some work from RB D’Andre Swift.
Lions RB Jamaal Williams (thigh) is expected to play vs. the Browns today, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Williams averaged 10.1 carries and 2.6 targets over the season's first 7 games. He'd be a desperation fantasy play but is certainly bad news for RB D'Andre Swift's touch projection.
