ESPN's Rob Demovsky believes the Packers might be ready to shift from a committee backfield to the "Jamaal Williams Show." Williams has run as Green Bay's clear lead back in the preseason so far. "He's really poised to have a big year," HC Mike McCarthy said this week. "Clearly without playing a game yet, I think we'll be talking about him at the end of the season as a second-year player that's made the jump ... Jamaal was a heckuva player last year for us as a rookie, and now he's just so comfortable. He's so consistent, and like most rookies that go through an offseason, he's had a chance to catch his breath." Ty Montgomery still figures to steal some passing-game work. And we'll see what Aaron Jones does after his 2-game suspension. But Williams is clearly the Packers RB to own in fantasy football right now -- especially with an ADP sitting in Round 8.
Packers RB Jamaal Williams (concussion) put in a full week of practice and isn't listed on the final Week 6 injury report. He'll return for Monday night's game against the Lions. Williams had basically worked himself into an even timeshare with Aaron Jones before the concussion. Then Jones busted out for 182 yards and 4 TDs with Williams out last week. We're guessing that earns Jones lead duties on Monday night -- but Williams' return still puts a dent in his Week 6 outlook.
Packers RB Jamaal Williams (concussion) was a full participant in Thursday's practice. That puts him on track to return for Monday night's game against the Lions. Williams had basically worked himself into an even timeshare with Aaron Jones before the concussion. We're guessing Jones operates as the lead back on Monday night after his huge Week 5 -- but Williams' return certainly adds risk to Jones' outlook.
Packers RB Jamaal Williams (concussion) is out for Sunday’s game against the Cowboys. Rookie Dexter Williams figures to step into the #2 RB role — but Aaron Jones should get feature-back usage in Dallas. He registered an 84% snap rate, 13 carries and 7 targets last week.
Packers RB Jamaal Williams was carted off the field in the 1st quarter of Thursday night's game against the Eagles after taking a helmet to helmet hit. The good news is that Williams was moving, but he's obviously done for the night. We'll update his status when we learn more. Aaron Jones will serve as Green Bay's feature back the rest of the way.
Packers RB Jamaal Williams returned to practice on Tuesday. He ended up missing just 4 days with his sprained ankle. Williams remains in line to open the season as Green Bay's lead back and is a fine value at his 8th-round price tag.
