49ers RB Alfred Morris admits that he's still learning the playbook. He has experience with HC Kyle Shanahan, but the offense has changed since their time together in Washington. Morris signed with the 'Niners just 3 weeks ago. “It’s not second nature yet, and that bothers me,” Morris said. “When you think, you’re not playing as fast. Right now, I’m still learning and getting that confidence. But, I think I’ll get to a place where I can carry a heavy load.” We're expecting Morris and Matt Breida to share backfield duties in Week 1 vs. Minnesota. Morris looks like the better non-PPR play, with Breida the better bet in PPR.
The Cardinals have signed RB Alfred Morris. The 30-year-old averaged 3.9 yards on 111 carries for the 49ers last year. In Arizona, he'll slot in as veteran insurance behind Chase Edmonds for however long David Johnson is out with his ankle injury.
The Cowboys have released RB Alfred Morris to make room on the roster for Ezekiel Elliott. Sorry if you owned Morris ... but you probably shouldn't have anyway.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that the Cowboys have agreed to terms with RB Alfred Morris. The veteran spent 2016-17 in Dallas before a year with the 49ers. He had also reportedly talked with the Saints this week. Morris could just turn out to be a camp body for the Cowboys, who are missing starter Ezekiel Elliott during a contract holdout. We're certainly not factoring Morris into fantasy football drafts yet. The Morris signing, though, could also signal a lack of handcuff value for rookie RB Mike Weber.
49ers RB Alfred Morris (knee) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game against the Chargers. He was added to the injury report on Thursday and limited again on Friday. We'll look for updates on his status, but Niners-Chargers doesn't start until 4:25 pm ET on Sunday.
The 49ers have signed RB Alfred Morris. He'll provide some insurance after recent injuries to RBs Jerick McKinnon (calf) and Matt Breida (shoulder). Morris has experience in HC Kyle Shanahan's offense after spending his first 2 NFL seasons in it with the Redskins.
