The Seahawks have deemed LB K.J. Wright doubtful for Thursday night's game against the Packers. Wright had to leave Sunday's loss to the Rams early because of his bothersome knee and hasn't practiced this week. Jacob Martin got the extra snaps against the Rams and looks like the next guy in. There should be no Seattle LB other than Bobby Wagner in your IDP plans, though.
Gregg Bell of the Tacoma News Tribune reports that LB K.J. Wright is re-signing with the Seahawks. That will keep him and MLB Bobby Wagner in their established roles, with fellow re-signee Mychal Kendricks potentially manning the opposite outside spot. Wright struggled through a knee injury last season, which limited him to just 5 games. Kendricks filled in for him at times, amid a league suspension and his own injury. When healthy, Wright has been a solid LB2-to-LB3 for IDP purposes. His deal is believed to be short term -- perhaps a "prove it" type contract coming off his 2018 knee issue.
Seahawks LB K.J. Wright practiced all week and is set to play Sunday. We’d expect him to start, though it’s tough to say whether Wright will be ready for a full snap share. He has been out since late August knee surgery. Wright’s in play for deep IDP leagues but not a strong Week 8 option in most cases
Seahawks HC Pete Carroll says LB K.J. Wright will probably be out at least "a couple weeks," according to ESPN's Brady Henderson. Carroll called that "the most optimistic we could be." That timeline would put Wright on the sideline past the regular-season opener. We'll see as the game draws closer, but IDP owners should expect Wright to miss at least 1 game and quite possibly another. Rookie Shaquem Griffin figures to start as long as Wright's out.
Seahawks OLB K.J. Wright came away from Friday's game against the Vikings with a knee issue that required arthroscopic surgery. According to multiple reports, HC Pete Carroll said he doesn't know whether Wright will be ready for the regular-season opener. Losing Wright for any time would be just the latest ding for a defense that will look much different than the unit we've gotten used to. It would also, however, likely allow rookie Shaquem Griffin to start in Wright's place. Griffin sits behind Wright on the team's "unofficial" depth chart.
Seahawks LB K.J. Wright returned to practice Tuesday after roughly a week away for some knee treatment, The News-Tribune reports. Wright and his coaches would only speak vaguely about the knee, which HC Pete Carroll said underwent a "process" and not a surgery. Wright said he didn't suffer a specific injury, but rather sought the treatment for an issue that had bothered him since June workouts. “I’m a soldier. I pushed through it,” Wright said. “We just wanted to be smart, so I could be 100 percent for the season. This is the perfect time.” Sounds like IDP owners don't need to worry about Wright, who's a solid option in LB3 territory in most fantasy football formats.
