The 49ers and RB Raheem Mostert have agreed to a restructured contract. No additional years were tacked on to the deal, but Mostert reportedly has a shot to double his old salary via incentives. He had requested a trade back earlier this month but will now be back in San Francisco this season. Mostert heads to training camp as the favorite for lead duties in this backfield -- although Tevin Coleman, and potentially Jerick McKinnon, will also be involved.

Recent Shark Bites

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that 49ers RB Raheem Mostert suffered another high-ankle sprain in Sunday's loss to the Cowboys and is "likely" done for the season. That leaves Jeff Wilson Jr. likely to lead the Week 16 backfield, assuming his own ankle issue doesn't get in the way. Tevin Coleman and Jerick McKinnon sit behind Wilson on the depth chart.

Update: Tom Pelissero reports that the team is placing Mostert on IR.

49ers RB Raheem Mostert re-injured his left ankle in the 3rd quarter of Sunday's game against the Cowboys. We'll pass along an update when we get one, but it sure looks like Mostert's day is over.

49ers RB Raheem Mostert (ankle) put in a full practice on Friday and isn't listed on the final injury report. So he should be ready for his usual role vs. the Cowboys this weekend. Mostert has worked in a committee alongside RB Jeff Wilson the past 3 weeks, leading in carries 39 to 30 but trailing 8 to 7 in targets.

49ers RB Raheem Mostert (ankle) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. It gives him a chance to play against the Cowboys this weekend. Check back tomorrow afternoon for another update on his status.

49ers RB Raheem Mostert (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. We don't have any details on the ankle injury, but he's clearly in some danger of missing this weekend's game vs. Dallas. Mostert's absence would presumably make Jeff Wilson San Francisco's lead back, with Tevin Coleman and Jerick McKinnon candidates for bigger roles.
