Raiders WR Bryan Edwards (foot, ankle) is set to return for Sunday’s game against the Chargers. He’s not a fantasy option but might steal some snaps from WR Nelson Agholor.

Recent Shark Bites

Raiders WR Bryan Edwards will miss at least Sunday's game against the Bills with his sprained ankle, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. He's "considered week-to-week" otherwise so could miss further time. We'll see about Edwards' status on the other side of Week 4. He's not worth clinging to in most redraft leagues, though.

Raiders WR Bryan Edwards suffered an ankle injury in Sunday's loss to the Patriots. Vegas was already without WR Henry Ruggs (hamstring) in that one. HC Jon Gruden said Monday that he's "concerned" about both guys. We'll need to track their practice participation this week. Hunter Renfrow, Nelson Agholor and Zay Jones are the Raiders' healthy WRs right now.

Raiders WR Bryan Edwards has been 1 of the buzziest players in the league through the first 10 days of August. The Athletic's Vic Tafur says the rookie has been "impressing teammates and coaches alike with his playmaking ability." And QB Derek Carr recently compared Edwards to Davante Adams (who Carr played with at Fresno State.) “Bryan is a very violent route runner,” Carr said. “He’s very violent and aggressive in his cuts, in and out of his cuts. … He reminds me of, when the ball is in the air, of Davante (Adams). Great ball skills.” Edwards has a good shot to win a top 3 WR job this season and is worth considering as a late-round flier in your fantasy draft.

Raiders WR Bryan Edwards (foot) is "ready to go" for the start of training camp, according to insider Adam Caplan. It's good news after Edwards fractured his left foot while training for the Combine back in February. The rookie is expected to open camp behind WR Tyrell Williams on the depth chart, per Caplan, but has the size and talent to push for a rookie-year role.

The Raiders added South Carolina WR Bryan Edwards in the 3rd round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He joins Henry Ruggs in Oakland’s remade WR corps. Edwards’ college production profile is as impressive as any WR in this class. He posted a 44-590-4 line as a 17-year-old true freshman and then led the Gamecocks with 64 catches, 793 yards and 5 scores as a sophomore. Edwards set new career highs with 846 yards and 7 TDs in 2018. And he turned in a 71-816-6 line this past year, despite missing 2 games. He led the SEC with 7.1 catches per game and ranked 4th with 81.6 receiving yards per game. Edwards is a 6’3, 212-pounder who plays to that size. He’s a tackle-breaker after the catch and is comfortable in contested situations. The big concern is Edwards’ injury history. He tore the meniscus in his right knee as a high school senior, strained a hamstring in 2016, hurt his left knee in 2019 and fractured his left foot while training for the Combine in February. Edwards figures to compete with Tyrell Williams for snaps in 2020.
