Falcons RB Wayne Gallman is inactive for today's game vs. the Eagles. He looks like a healthy scratch after joining the team just recently. Cordarrelle Patterson will back up starting RB Mike Davis today.
The Seahawks signed RB Wayne Gallman to the practice squad. The 28-year-old carried just 28 times for the Falcons last year but has a pair of 100+ carry seasons with the Giants on his resume. Gallman is no better than a league-average back -- but there's a chance he plays a real role for Seattle this week with RBs Ken Walker, Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas dealing with injuries.
The Falcons on Thursday announced that they had signed RB Wayne Gallman and released RB Qadree Ollison. That doesn’t mean much for fantasy football values, unless you had big dreams for your late-round Ollison shares. Gallman played well for the Giants last season, but they then let him walk so they could pounce on Devontae Booker in free agency. Gallman, of course, failed to stick with San Francisco this summer. He now, at least, should find more opportunity in 1 of the league’s worst RB depth charts.
The 49ers released RB Wayne Gallman. A noteworthy signing back in April, the 49ers proceeded to retain Raheem Mostert and draft Trey Sermon and Elijah Mitchell. That trio will enter the regular season filling San Francisco's depth chart, along with JaMycal Hasty. (Jeff Wilson remains on the PUP list.)
The 49ers have signed RB Wayne Gallman to a 1-year deal. He joins a depth chart that also includes Raheem Mostert, Jeff Wilson Jr., JaMycal Hasty and Austin Walter. With the Giants in 2020, Gallman actually outperformed both Wilson and Mostert in Football Outsiders' rushing DYAR and DVOA, ranking top-12 in each category. Gallman also earned a higher rushing grade than Wilson from Pro Football Focus and narrowly trailed Mostert in that category (77.0 to 76.4). Mostert is going in the middle of Round 7 in FFPC best-ball ADP as RB28; Wilson sits late in Round 9 at RB37. Neither is going early enough that you need to remove them from your drafting plans. But Gallman's 2020 performance makes him worth considering in a backfield that likes to spread touches around. For now, consider sprinkling in some late Gallman shares into your best-ball drafting. We'll see how things settle out through the summer.
Giants RB Wayne Gallman exited in the 1st quarter of Sunday's game against the Vikings to get checked for a concussion. We'll update his status when we learn more. Gallman's absence would leave Jon Hilliman as New York's lead back.
Update: Gallman has a concussion and is done for the day.
