ESPN's Rob Demovsky confirms that Packers WR Matthew Golden is in line to play a bigger role in 2026, following a quiet rookie season. Green Bay let WR Romeo Doubs depart in free agency and then traded WR Dontayvion Wicks to Philadelphia. That leaves Golden as the favorite for a starting outside spot opposite WR Christian Watson, with WR Jayden Reed in the slot. "Despite a rookie season in which the Packers never seemed to make Golden a focal point of the offense, they came away feeling the 2025 first-round pick was ready for more," Demovsky writes.

Texans GM Nick Caserio chose his words carefully when responding to a question about WR Tank Dell's availability for the start of training camp. Dell is working his way back from ACL, MCL, LCL, and meniscus injuries suffered in December 2024. "With Tank, honestly, it’s probably a day to day, and we’ll kinda see where he is," Caserio said. "Probably have a better idea as we get through the spring, of what his availability is gonna be in training camp. He’s been here pretty religiously since he’s been able to do more, as he’s kinda gotten out of the rehab stage."

Bills GM Brandon Beane backed WR Keon Coleman in an interview with The Athletic released today. He said it wasn’t “an ability thing” with Coleman, that he has “shown plenty.", and that the Bills are “putting all our eggs in [Coleman’s] basket to come back for year three and be a part of this group, however that is.” But that stance clashes with what Bills Owner Terry Pegula said in January, when he blamed the former coaching staff for pushing to “draft Keon” with Beane sitting next to him and offering little pushback. The Keon Coleman situation remains muddled.

According to Oliver Connolly of The Read Optional, University of Miami DE Rueben Bain was involved in a fatal traffic accident in March 2024. The report says Bain was driving when he collided with another vehicle. Two passengers in that vehicle were hospitalized, including 22-year-old Destiny Betts, who died of her injuries on June 13, 2024.

Jacksonville's signing of RB Chris Rodriguez Jr. in free agency has generated debate on whether he or second-year RB Bhayshul Tuten would prove to be the better 2026 fantasy football value. But HC Liam Coen says Tuten isn't the only 2025 rookie RB who should expect to see more work this coming season. Seventh-round pick LeQuint Allen also impressed his coaches with his passing-down work last season and remains part of the backfield plan.

As expected, the Falcons have picked up RB Bijan Robinson’s fifth-year option. The move keeps him under team control through the 2027 season.

The Packers are trading WR Dontayvion Wicks to the Eagles in exchange for 2026 fifth- and 2027 sixth-round picks, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Philadelphia is also giving Wicks a one-year, $12.5 million extension that keeps him signed through the 2027 season. Wicks has teased fantasy owners with a handful of strong outings over the last four seasons and registered strong marks in advanced metrics like targets per route and yards per route. But he never carved out a consistent role in Green Bay. There's opportunity for him to do so in Philadelphia ... if WR A.J. Brown is traded.

Colts WR Josh Downs has been efficient through three NFL seasons, averaging 1.74 yards per route. But he's struggled for reliable fantasy value because of his role. Downs has run 81.5% of his routes from the slot and played very little in three-WR sets. That's resulted in route rates of 75%, 75%, and 67%, respectively, over his three seasons. But with WR Michael Pittman's departure, there's a chance Downs gets a full-time role in 2026. And that'd make him an exciting fantasy prospect.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirmed Thursday what his colleague Cameron Wolfe reported back in February: that the Jaguars plan to play Travis Hunter full time at CB and part-time at receiver this coming season. The team also plans to ease him through offseason workouts with the goal of getting Hunter back to full strength by training camp. Hunter injured the LCL in his right knee in Week 7 and missed the rest of the season.

Dolphins GM Jon-Eric Sullivan singled out TE Greg Dulcich as a player he's excited about taking a leap in 2026. "I thought he had a really good back end of the season, and I want to see if he can build on that," Sullivan said on Kevin Clark's This is Football. "That’s why we brought him back."

The Texans have picked up the fifth-year club option on QB C.J. Stroud, keeping him signed through the 2027 season, per beat writer Aaron Wilson. Stroud will now make $25.9 million fully guaranteed in 2027. Houston also picked up the fifth-year option on DE Will Anderson, who was selected immediately after Stroud in the 2023 NFL Draft.

The 49ers might be preparing to hand a high-value job to a player with little NFL experience. According to The Athletic's Matt Barrows, second-year RB Jordan James "appears to be the frontrunner to be the top backup this season." San Francisco drafted James in the fifth round last year, but an injury-plagued summer kept him from competing for a regular-season roster spot. James didn't touch the ball until the playoff loss to Seattle (six carries and one catch at the end of a blowout).

Titans HC Robert Saleh briefly updated the status of QB Cam Ward. "I am not going to put a timetable on anything, but he is progressing really well." Ward avoided surgery for a Week 18 AC joint sprain in his right shoulder.

Tennessee WR Chris Brazzell II appears on track for Day 2 draft capital. But, a source with access to team insights informed Draft Sharks about potential character concerns that could cause a draft-day fall. “I was told he is the offensive version of James Pearce.” Brazzell wowed at the Combine at 6’4, 198 pounds running a 4.37 40, but fantasy managers should be aware of off-field concerns.

Dolphins GM Jon-Eric Sullivan said the team plans to build the offense around newly signed QB Malik Willis, according to ESPN’s Marcel Louis-Jacques. RB De’Von Achane will remain a foundational piece, but Sullivan labeled Willis “an ascending player.”

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Chiefs' WR Rashee Rice "has not engaged in conduct that violates the personal conduct policy" and will not face discipline "at this time." The league investigated assault allegations from Rice’s ex-girlfriend spanning an 18-month stretch from 2023 to 2025, but closed the case without action. Rice is now on track to open the season as Kansas City’s No. 1 WR in Week 1.

New Browns HC Todd Monken sounds excited about second-year TE Harold Fannin Jr., and for good reason. The third-round pick led Cleveland in targets, catches, receiving yards, and TD catches as a rookie. He looks like one of the team's few offensive bright spots at the moment. And Monken likens Fannin to a star TE he coached in college.

QB Kirk Cousins agreed to a contract with the Las Vegas Raiders per his agent. With only QB Aidan O'Connell currently on the roster, the Raiders plan to draft QB Fernando Mendoza with the first overall pick. But, HC Klint Kubiak expressed interest in signing a veteran QB to not force Mendoza into the lineup for Week 1. Kubiak coached Cousins for three seasons in Minnesota, so the fit should be easy into Kubiak's offense. Cousins appears to be the perfect fit to start the season and let Mendoza ease into the NFL. Cousins should be the favorite to start Week 1.

Rams WR Puka Nacua checked into a rehab facility last month. Per Nate Atkins of The Athletic, the Rams were “urging Nacua to grow as a person after a series of controversies off the field.” He's accused of biting two women and making an antisemitic comment on New Year’s Eve.

Bills TE Dalton Kincaid will need to play much more than he did in 2025 if he has a shot at becoming a comfortable weekly fantasy starter. Will it happen? According to Tim Graham, Bills beat writer for The Athletic, HC Joe Brady s "wondering how Buffalo will maintain Kincaid's week-to-week and play-to-play wherewithal." Brady reportedly discussed the possibility of Kincaid sitting out some practices during the season and "stated Kincaid simply might have to play through the pain." The issue is the PCL in his left knee, which Kincaid injured back in November 2024. He has avoided surgery each of the past two offseasons, but 2025 found him aggravating the knee on multiple occasions.
