Is Jeffery a #1 WR? | Shark Bites | Draft Sharks

According to ESPN's Jeff Dickerson, it's "unclear" whether the Bears view Alshon Jeffery as a "true No. 1 receiver." The organization couldn't agree to a long-term contract with Jeffery before Friday's deadline for franchise-tagged players. "Chicago’s approach in negotiations suggests they view Jeffery more as a '1A' or elite No. 2 wideout.," Dickerson adds. Jeffery has certainly produced like a #1 WR over the past 3 seasons, averaging 5.6 catches, 82.0 yards and .5 TDs per game. That's a full-season pace of 89 catches, 1,312 yards and 8 scores. He did miss 7 games last year with a variety of injuries, though, and also entered the league with questions about his work ethic. Jeffery will have plenty of motivation this year as he plays for a big contract next offseason. A potential concern is the Bears trying to groom Kevin White as their future #1 WR.

Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery underwent surgery to repair his Lisfranc injury on Saturday, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports. "The hope is he’ll be ready to go by the start of the 2020 season," Garafolo adds. Lisfrancs can be tough to recover from -- especially for a soon-to-be 30-year-old receiver with a long injury history. Jeffery is due $11.5 million fully guaranteed in 2020, so he'll be back with Philly.

The Eagles have placed WR Alshon Jeffery on IR, officially ending his 2019 campaign. Jeffery suffered a Lisfranc injury in Monday night's game against the Giants, according to NBC Philadelphia's John Clark. The Eagles promoted WR Robert Davis from the practice squad to take Jeffery's place on the roster. Davis joins J.J. Arcega-Whiteside and Greg Ward as the team's healthy WRs.

Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery's injury is "significant" and might cost him the rest of the season, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. We're still waiting for an official diagnosis on Jeffery, but it looked like a serious injury from the moment it happened. Fantasy owners shouldn't be counting on him the rest of the way.

Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery told the media he "felt something pop" in his foot during the 2nd quarter of Monday night's game against the Giants. The team is calling it a foot injury, which is better than an Achilles. But this obviously sounds like a serious issue. Jeffery is scheduled for an MRI on Tuesday. Philly is razor-thin at WR, with DeSean Jackson on IR, Nelson Agholor dealing with a knee injury and J.J. Arcega-Whiteside appearing to hurt his hamstring late in the Giants game.

Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery left Monday night's game against the Giants in the 1st half after hurting his right foot. He's questionable to return.

Update: Jeffery has been ruled out for the rest of the game.
