The Bengals have fired OC Ken Zampese, according to ESPN's Josina Anderson. Zampese's offense failed to score a TD in 2 games, although QB Andy Dalton has been just as much to blame as the play-calling. We'll see if this move sparks the offense. It might also help RB Joe Mixon, who's been mired in a 3-headed committee.
UPDATE: Zampese will be replaced by QBs coach Bill Lazor, who spent 2014 and 2015 as Dolphins OC. The 2014 Fins ranked 11 in points scored and 14th in total yards. They fell to 27th and 26th, respectively, in 2015.
The Saints signed QB Andy Dalton to a 1-year deal. It contains $3 million in guaranteed money and can be worth "up to" $6 million, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. That's backup money, which is what Dalton figures to be behind Jameis Winston in New Orleans. The signing will allow Taysom Hill to focus on TE, as HC Dennis Allen said he would earlier today.
Bears QB Andy Dalton will start Sunday's game vs. the Giants, HC Matt Nagy announced on Friday. QB Nick Foles will be the backup, so QB Justin Fields evidently isn't ready to return from that ankle injury. Dalton is just a low-end QB2 in fantasy lineups, although he's not a significant downgrade from Fields for Chicago's skill-position guys.
Bears QB Andy Dalton will start Thursday's game vs. the Lions, HC Matt Nagy said. QB Justin Fields' rib injury isn't believed to be serious, but he evidently won't be ready for the quick turnaround. We'll see if he can make it back for Week 13. Despite the plus matchup, Dalton is only in play in 2-QB leagues and Thanksgiving DFS contests.
Bears QB Andy Dalton (knee) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Lions. QB Justin Fields will make his 2nd career start. The 1st was a disaster, but he’s in a much better spot at home for Detroit today. Still, Fields is only an option in 2-QB leagues and DFS tournaments.
The Bears on Saturday downgraded QB Andy Dalton to doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Lions. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero — among others — reports that Chicago is expected to start Justin Fields for the 2nd straight game. Things can’t go much worse than they did in the rookie’s 1st start at Cleveland, but we’re still wary of using Fields in season-long fantasy football lineups
