The Bills have traded DT Marcell Dareus to the Jaguars for a conditional 2018 draft pick. The selection is reportedly a 6th-rounder that could become a 5th-rounder depending on Dareus’ performance. The move also frees cap space for Buffalo. Jacksonville adds even more talent to an already-loaded D-line. We’ll see if he can garner enough snaps to become an IDP option. Buffalo’s team D doesn’t lose anything. Dareus’ role had already decreased significantly this season. Dareus played under Jaguars HC Doug Marrone when Marrone piloted the Bills in 2013-14
Jaguars DT Marcell Dareus (elbow) is out for today's game against the Chiefs. He put in limited practices all week, so we'd guess he'll be back for Week 2.
The Bills have ruled DT Marcell Dareus out for Sunday's game against the Broncos with an ankle injury. That hurts the Buffalo D-line, but the unit remains an upside play for DFS tournaments.
Bills DT Marcell Dareus missed Wednesday's practice with an ankle injury. HC Sean McDermott said he's "concerned" that Dareus might miss Sunday's game against Denver, according to the Buffalo News. Dareus played just 17 snaps in the Week 2 loss at Carolina. Even at full strength in Week 1, though, Dareus played a smaller share of snaps than in any of the games he played last year. Dareus is only worth hanging onto right now in IDP leagues that play with DT-specific slots.
The Bills sent DT Marcell Dareus home before Saturday's game against the Ravens because of a team rules violation. "Sean and I are going to do things the right way," GM Brandon Beane said, while refusing to specify details. "He violated a team rule, so we sent him home. Disappointing." IDP owners shouldn't worry unless Dareus continues to stay away from the team into next week.
Bills DL Marcell Dareus is doubtful once again for Week 7 with the hamstring injury that has dogged him since his return from the 4-game suspension. He sat out practice all week and thus doesn't look particularly close to returning to full strength. Bills DL Kyle Williams is questionable, as well, after showing up on Thursday's injury report with a neck issue. He put in limited workouts Thursday and Friday. The defense did, however, get a potential boost this week by activating rookie OLB Shaq Lawson (shoulder) after he opened the season on the PUP list. We'll see what kind of role Lawson's ready to play in his 1st NFL action.
