Browns insider Mary Kay Cabot believes WR Antonio Callaway's "emergence" in training camp is part of the reason the team felt comfortable trading WR Corey Coleman to Buffalo. This isn't the first buzz we've heard on Callaway, who some scouts believe is 1 of the most talented WRs in this year's rookie class. He slipped into the 4th round of the draft due to a litany of off-field issues. Callaway actually ran ahead of Coleman as Cleveland's "X" receiver in camp on Friday, according to Cabot. That'll be Josh Gordon's spot when (if?) he returns. But Callaway at least looks in line to serve as the Browns' #3 WR this season, giving him some late-round flier appeal. And if Gordon remains away, Callaway could return a big profit.
The Dolphins on Saturday elevated WR Antonio Callaway from the practice squad. We wouldn't consider the former Cleveland Brown a fantasy option for Week 10, but his role will be interesting to watch as the team deals with Preston Williams landing on IR.
The Browns have released WR Antonio Callaway. He slipped to the the 4th round of the 2018 draft due to a plethora of off-field issues -- and that continued in Cleveland. We'll see if the 22-year-old gets another shot elsewhere. Rashard Higgins is back as the Browns' #3 WR but isn't a fantasy option unless we see this passing game get rolling.
Browns WR Antonio Callaway is a healthy scratch for today's game against the Bills. He's been serving as Cleveland's #3 WR -- a role that now figures to go back to Rashard Higgins. Higgins isn't a viable Week 10 fantasy play, but he's worth keeping an eye on today.
Browns WR Antonio Callaway has been suspended 4 games for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Callaway has already unsuccessfully tried to appeal the ban. The 22-year-old entered the league last year with major character concerns, so this shouldn't come as a major surprise. The news also explains why Callaway has been running behind WR Rashard Higgins in training camp. Higgins will open the season as Cleveland's #3 WR. Callaway isn't worth rostering redraft leagues.
Browns WRs Antonio Callaway (ankle) and Rashard Higgins (knee) are active for today’s game against the Chiefs. We’ll be curious to see how these guys and Damion Ratley are deployed behind Jarvis Landry. One or 2 of them could have a nice fantasy day in what figures to be a pass-heavy game from the Browns as they try to keep up with Patrick Mahomes and Co.
