Browns WR Josh Gordon tweeted Saturday just after noon that he's ready to "humbly return to being a member" of the Browns. The announcement comes a day after Cleveland's 2nd preseason game against the Bills. We have to assume he'll rejoin the team for practice in the coming week. We'll see if Gordon's ready to play in the "dress rehearsal" 3rd exhibition Thursday against Philadelphia. We'll also have to see what his extended absence means for his depth-chart standing. Of course, Gordon's return is obviously good news for both the Browns offense and the fantasy outlook for 1 of the league's most physically gifted receivers. His ADP has remained a bit high for our tastes, but Gordon's draft-day evaluation comes down more to where (if at any point) you feel comfy taking the risk.
Update: According to NFL PR guy Brian McCarthy, Gordon is allowed to attend practices and meetings but cannot yet participate in practice. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that Gordon is still in the league's "jointly negotiated substance abuse program." Gordon remains a risky pick in fantasy football drafts.
Seahawks WR Josh Gordon has been suspended indefinitely for violating the league's policies on performance-enhancing substances and substances of abuse. It's his 5th suspension. This could and probably should be the end of Gordon's NFL career. Seattle will go back to WRs David Moore and Malik Turner behind Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf.
Seahawks WR Josh Gordon is active for tonight's game against the 49ers. We'll be keeping a close eye on how big a role he plays in his team debut, but he's nothing more than a DFS flier tonight.
Seahawks HC Pete Carroll said there's a "good chance" WR Josh Gordon plays against the 49ers on Monday night. "He did really well," Carroll said of Gordon's first week of practice with the team. "He was very impressive in terms of picking stuff up, studying overtime. He fit in really well. He's a really good athlete. You can really tell that he's got a lot of potential to be a big-time player, so it was fun to see him on the practice field. He did a nice job." We'll see exactly how big a role Gordon plays after joining the team a little over a week ago, but he shouldn't be in Week 10 fantasy lineups.
The Seahawks have claimed WR Josh Gordon off waivers. It's an interesting landing spot, to say the least. We'll see when Gordon is healthy enough and comfortable enough in Seattle's offense to play, but he's worth a stash in deeper fantasy leagues.
The Patriots are releasing WR Josh Gordon from IR, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. We'll see where he lands and then when he's able to return from his knee injury. Gordon is worth stashing in deeper fantasy leagues but isn't a great bet to re-emerge as a bankable fantasy asset down the stretch.
