Godwin out again Thursday | Shark Bites | Draft Sharks

Bucs WR Chris Godwin (ankle) missed his 2nd straight practice on Thursday. He now seems in real danger of missing this weekend's game against the Giants. WR DeSean Jackson would get the biggest playing-time boost if Godwin sits. Mike Evans, Adam Humphries and O.J. Howard would also pick up some extra targets.

Bucs WR Chris Godwin (ankle) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game against the Giants. He sat out on Wednesday and Thursday but put in a full practice on Friday. We’re expecting Godwin to play and will find out for sure by noon ET on Sunday. Consider him a risk/reward WR3 for Week 11.

Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin missed Wednesday's practice with an ankle injury. It's a new issue, but Godwin participated to the end of last week's game against Washington -- catching a pass on the final play. Godwin did match his lowest snap share of the season (49%), though we have no idea if that's related to the ankle. We'll keep an eye on his status heading into Sunday's visit to the Giants.

The Bucs "plan to start" WR Chris Godwin, according to the Tampa Bay Times' Rick Stroud. "Starter" labels are blurry in an increasingly matchup-based NFL. And most teams run plenty of 3-WR sets. But this is an especially important distinction in Tampa, where the Bucs figure to have 2 TEs (Cameron Brate and O.J. Howard) and 2 WRs on the field a lot of the time. According to Stroud, Godwin is in line to start on the outside opposite Mike Evans. DeSean Jackson has been working in the slot when the Bucs go with 3 WRs. This is the best way for Tampa to get its best 3 wideouts on the field -- but it'd still be a knock to Jackson's fantasy value and a boon to Godwin's. We'll be keeping a close eye on this 1st-team offense in preseason action over the next few weeks. But Godwin, who's going 2-and-a-half rounds later than Jackson in drafts, looks like the better value right now.

Bucs WR Chris Godwin lined up on the outside with the 1st-team offense during Tuesday's minicamp session, according to Pewter Report's Trevor Sikkema. Mike Evans was the other outside WR, with DeSean Jackson in the slot. This is clearly Tampa's most dangerous 3-WR grouping (despite how reliable Adam Humphries has been) and would make Godwin a potential breakout candidate this year. He closed his rookie campaign with 10 catches for 209 yards and a score over the final 2 weeks and has been buzzing all spring. We'll continue to watch how this WR corps shapes up. Jameis Winston, meanwhile, continues to look like 1 of the most undervalued QBs in early fantasy drafts.

Bucs WR Chris Godwin (ankle) missed his 2nd straight practice on Thursday. It looks like he's in danger of missing this weekend's finale against the Saints. With WR DeSean Jackson (ankle) trending toward playing, Godwin wouldn't have been a fantasy option anyway.
