Ravens HC John Harbaugh remained cryptic when asked Monday about QB Joe Flacco's role when healthy. "It stands to reason that if Joe's ready to go, he'll be part of the game plan. He's too good of a player not to be," Harbaugh said. "We have a plan. We have to talk to the guys about it. Whether we share that publicly, we'll have to decide as the week goes on." We'll continue to keep an eye on this situation. If Flacco is active for Sunday's game against the Bucs, it'll make QB Lamar Jackson a much riskier fantasy play.
The Ravens and Broncos have agreed to a trade that will send QB Joe Flacco to Denver, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The deal can't be made official until the new league year starts on March 13. Flacco had flashes of elite play in Baltimore, but his 11 seasons there are best described as mediocre. He sports a career 61.7% completion rate, 6.7 yards per attempt and 212 TDs vs. 136 INTs. Flacco is clearly heading to Denver to take over as the Broncos' starter, though, which means the end of the Case Keenum Era. Considering Flacco is 34, this move shouldn't take Denver out of the running to select a QB in the 1st round of this spring's draft. Note that the Broncos can get out of Flacco's contract after the 2019 season with 0 dead money.
Update: The Ravens will receive Denver's 4th-round pick in this year's draft in exchange for Flacco.
Ravens QB Joe Flacco (hip) is active for today’s game against the Bucs. He’ll back up rookie Lamar Jackson and isn’t expected to have a package of plays. Flacco should only see the field if Jackson gets hurt or struggles mightily.
Ravens QB Joe Flacco (hip) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Bucs. HC John Harbaugh said earlier this week that Flacco will be active as QB Lamar Jackson’s backup. That adds a bit of risk to the rookie fantasy’s profile, but he remains a QB2 with upside.
Ravens QB Joe Flacco (hip) is inactive for today’s game against the Chiefs. That makes QB Lamar Jackson a safer fantasy play.
Ravens QB Joe Flacco (hip) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game against the Chiefs. He put in a full practice on Friday — his 1st since suffering that hip injury. If Flacco is active on Sunday, he’s expected to back up QB Lamar Jackson. But it’d add some risk to Jackson’s fantasy outlook because Baltimore could bench him if he struggles.
