3 starters questionable vs. Steelers | Shark Bites | Draft Sharks

Niners DE Nick Bosa (ankle), S Jaquiski Tartt (toe) and DE Dee Ford (quad) are questionable for Sunday's game against the Steelers. Bosa put in limited practices all week, which was better than last week. Then, he sat out Wednesday and Thursday before returning Friday and then playing through a "questionable" tag. We'd bet on him playing Sunday, though it's still a good spot to keep him out of IDP lineups. Tartt missed Wednesday's practice before returning to limited workouts the next 2 days. Ford missed Wednesday's and Thursday's practices before a limited Friday. He's listed with a quad injury but has been struggling to get over a preseason knee injury. He's a definite sit for IDP owners even if active. We'll check the status of all 3 Sunday afternoon, but the late start combined with their situations means you should try to look elsewhere for fantasy options.

Recent Shark Bites

Niners DE Dee Ford is active for tonight's game against the Browns. He made it onto the field for just 1 limited practice this week while dealing with a quad injury and has been hampered by multiple issues all season. S Jimmie Ward is also active for the 1st time this season. We'll see whether he takes the FS job back from Tarvarius Moore.

Niners DE Nick Bosa, DE Dee Ford and S Jaquiski Tartt are active for today's game against the Steelers. All entered the day questionable and are low-level IDP options at best. Ford, in particular, has been struggling through his return from a preseason knee sprain and should not be in fantasy football lineups. DB Jimmie Ward, meanwhile, is inactive once again. That keeps Tarvarius Moore in play for deep IDP leagues.

The 49ers have ruled S Jaquiski Tartt (shoulder) and LB Reuben Foster (hamstring) out for Monday night’s game against the Giants. Tartt’s absence puts Antone Exum in starting range for IDP lineups, after he delivered starter production while filling in earlier this season

Niners LB Reuben Foster (hamstring) and S Jaquiski Tartt (shoulder) each left Sunday's loss to the Cardinals early with injuries and did not return. San Francisco now plays Oakland on Thursday night, which will challenge the ability of either defender to make it back for Week 9.

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports that the 49ers will keep rookie Fred Warner at MLB today against the Chiefs and start Reuben Foster and Malcolm Smith at the OLB spots. Foster is returning from a 2-game suspension, while Smith missed the 1st 2 games with a hamstring injury. It remains to be seen who the Niners will keep on the field for passing sub packages. IDP owners can use Warner and Foster in Week 3 lineups, but be aware of the lingering playing-time question if you're facing tough starting decisions.
