Hicks lands on IR | Shark Bites | Draft Sharks

The Bears on Tuesday placed DL Akiem Hicks on IR. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Hicks had been getting opinions on the elbow he injured in their Week 5 loss to the Raiders over Chicago's bye. Even if he's a candidate to be designated to return, that wouldn't come until the end of the regular season. So IDP owners should certainly drop Hicks from redraft rosters. His absence hurts the team D outlook as well, while leaving snaps available for players such as Nick Williams and Roy Robertson-Harris.

Bears DE Akiem Hicks says he'll be ready to play against the Packers on Sunday. The veteran has been on IR since dislocating his left elbow in Week 5 against the Raiders. This week marks the first time he's eligible to return. “It’s a pretty specific date," he said, according to multiple outlets. "I knew when it was coming and I’ve prepared accordingly." HC Matt Nagy has reportedly been non-committal on Hicks' status for the game. We'll see this weekend. Hicks doesn't look like a strong IDP option for Week 15 but carries some low-end upside. He notched a sack among 4 total pressures in the Week 1 meeting with Green Bay.

Bears DL Akiem Hicks left Sunday's loss to the Raiders early with "what appeared to be a dislocated left elbow," according to ESPN's Jeff Dickerson. Hicks did not return to the game. He'll get a Week 6 bye to try to get it ready to play. Hicks, of course, entered the game questionable with a knee injury that cost him Week 4.

Bears DE Akiem Hicks is active for today's game against the Raiders. He missed last week with a knee injury that kept him out of practice Wednesday and Thursday. Hicks returned to a limited Friday workout. He'll be a risky IDP option but is available for deeper leagues.

Bears DE Akiem Hicks is questionable for Sunday's game against the Raiders. He returned to a limited practice Friday after missing Wednesday and Thursday. Hicks sat out Week 4 with a knee injury and clearly isn't back to full strength. We'll see if he's active or the game, but he'll carry risk even if he is.

The Bears don't expect DL Akiem Hicks to play against the Vikings today, according to ESPN's Dan Graziano. Hicks sustained a knee injury in Monday's win over Washington and missed practice all week. He's officially questionable, but you shouldn't plan on having him available for your IDP lineup.
