The Bills have ruled DE Shaq Lawson (hamstring) out for Sunday's game against the Jets.
The Bills have ruled DE Shaq Lawson inactive for today's game in Atlanta. He suffered a groin injury in practice this week. Losing their starting left DE certainly doesn't help a Buffalo D that you shouldn't have been starting anyway.
Bills DE Shaq Lawson is questionable for Sunday's game in Atlanta because of a groin injury he suffered in Thursday's practice. He did not participate Friday after leaving the Thursday workout early. Don't bet on him playing this week.
Bills OLB Shaq Lawson returned to practice this week, his 1st chance to do so after opening the year on the PUP. The rookie said he felt "completely healthy," according to the Buffalo News, after working back from shoulder surgery to fix an issue that dated back to college. HC Rex Ryan didn't rule out playing Lawson this Sunday at Miami, though we wouldn't bet on too prominent a role within the next few games. OLB Lorenzo Alexander is playing the best ball of his career in what would have been Lawson's place, across from OLB Jerry Hughes.
The Bills announced Monday that rookie DE Shaq Lawson will have shoulder surgery. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported during the draft that the potential repair would sideline Lawson 4-6 months. Lawson said at the time that he didn't need it and would continue to play through the issue. But the team has deemed this the best long-term course of action. The timeframe would keep Lawson off the field until at least mid-September, with the long end lasting into November. Either way, it's tough to expect much of an IDP contribution this season. The surgery doesn't change his long-term outlook for dynasty purposes.
The Bills spent the 19th pick in the NFL Draft on DE Shaq Lawson, who should start right away at left DE. Lawson isn't the speediest guy off the edge but joins 1 of the most talented defensive lines in the league. That should help his early production, though Lawson also brings a questionable shoulder with him.
