Dolphins trade for Washington

The Dolphins have acquired RB DeAndre Washington from the Chiefs. Washington's only 4 touches of the season came last week -- but he caught 88 balls across 4 seasons with the Raiders. He's unlikely to make a fantasy impact in Miami, though, barring an injury to Myles Gaskin.

Dolphins RB DeAndre Washington has missed the first 2 practices of the week with a hamstring injury. RB Salvon Ahmed, meanwhile, has been limited with his shoulder issue. RB Myles Gaskin (knee) has also been practicing but isn't listed on the official report because he still hasn't been activated from IR. Hopefully by Friday afternoon we'll have a better idea of what Miami's backfield will look like vs. Cincinnati this weekend.

The Chiefs are releasing RB DeAndre Washington, according to ESPN's Field Yates. That seems to solidify Darrel Williams and Darwin Thompson behind Clyde Edwards-Helaire on the depth chart. Each makes for a solid stash late in fantasy football drafts, with Williams the #2.

The Chiefs have signed RB DeAndre Washington to a 1-year deal. The former Raider saw his most extensive action as a pro late last season with RB Josh Jacobs banged up over the final 4 games, taking 60 carries for 231 yards (3.9 YPC) and 2 TDs while adding 18 catches for 125 yards. He's averaging just 4.0 yards per carry for his career, though, and is best-suited for a change-of-pace role. That's what he figures to play in Kansas City. If this is all the Chiefs add to the backfield this offseason, RB Damien Williams is set up for big volume.

Raiders RB DeAndre Washington has been getting "all" of the 2nd-team reps ahead of Jalen Richard in camp so far, according to insider Vic Tafur. That there's a clear gap between the 2 is surprising after they played a similar number of snaps and saw about the same amount of total touches last year. We're still expecting both guys to be involved behind starter Marshawn Lynch -- and to form a committee if Lynch misses time -- but Washington is the superior late-round target in fantasy drafts.

Raiders RB DeAndre Washington is a healthy scratch for today's game against the Panthers. He played a season-low 4 snaps last week and has evidently been passed up by RB Jalen Richard. Washington can be dropped in redraft leagues.
