Texans add Conley | Shark Bites | Draft Sharks

The Texans signed WR Chris Conley to a 1-year deal. A plus athlete, Conley has yet to emerge as a consistent producer through 6 NFL seasons. His 47-775-5 line with the Jaguars in 2019 stands as his best. Conley will battle with Randall Cobb, Keke Coutee and Chad Hansen for targets behind Brandin Cooks in Houston.

Jaguars WR Chris Conley (hip) is active for today’s game against the Vikings. He figures to operate as the #4 WR behind D.J. Chark, Keelan Cole and Laviska Shenault.

Jaguars WR Chris Conley is questionable to return to Thursday night's game against the Titans with what the team announced as an ankle injury. He rolled his ankle and hyper-extended his knee on the same play. We'll update Conley's status when we learn more.

Update: Conley returned later in the 2nd quarter.

ESPN's Mike DiRocco says Chris Conley "has been the best receiver during OTAs and minicamp" for the Jaguars. The free-agent signee played briefly with new QB Nick Foles in Kansas City, but the bigger factor working in his favor is Marqise Lee's slow return from an August 2018 knee injury. Lee isn't expected to return until "several weeks into training camp." That could clear a path for Conley to enter the season among the top 2 wideouts for the Jaguars. And DiRocco says they "don't have a clear No. 1." We'd bet on Dede Westbrook leading the group in fantasy scoring, but Conley makes sense as a late-round pick in current best-ball drafting.

The Jaguars have added WR Chris Conley. He's a size/speed freak at 6'2, 213 pounds with a 97th percentile SPARQ score. But Conley never earned a significant role in Kansas City, totaling 104 catches over the past 4 seasons. He joins a relatively unsettled WR corps in Jacksonville alongside Dede Westbrook, D.J. Chark, Marqise Lee and Keelan Cole. Conley will be worth monitoring this summer.

Chiefs WR Chris Conley ruptured his right Achilles' tendon in Sunday night's win over Houston and will miss the rest of the season, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Conley already sat just 5th on the team in targets and caught 11 passes through 5 games. The loss could mean a few more targets for slot WR Albert Wilson and provide WR Demarcus Robinson a chance to get on the field more.
