49ers WR Christian Kirk missed the second day of training camp after straining his calf on Day 1, according to Matt Maiocco of NBC. His absence could give rookie second-round WR De’Zhaun Stribling more early camp work. The 49ers signed Kirk to a one-year deal worth up to $6 million this offseason.

Colts QB Daniel Jones confirmed on the Pat McAfee show that he's been fully cleared for training camp and will fully participate when camp opens this week. Jones has been working his way back from an Achilles injury he suffered last December. Jones' full participation in training camp means he should be ready for the start of the season.

Ravens HC Jesse Minter made it clear that WR Zay Flowers will be a focal point of new OC Declan Doyle's offense. "I look forward to him getting the ball in as many ways as possible," Minter said. "The more that guy touches the ball, the better we'll be. When you talk about coaches having a vision and a plan, I think our offensive coaches have a great plan and vision for maximizing the best players – Zay certainly being one of those guys."

49ers TE George Kittle (Achilles) opened training camp on the PUP list. But GM John Lynch said his rehab is going "tremendous" and that he could play in the season opener. "He’s doing really well, and that’s very exciting," Lynch added. "He’s doing everything possible to be ready for Week 1, and we’re thrilled with his progress."

Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett skipped most of the team’s off-season program as he requested a new deal. The team and Brissett came to an agreement in the final year of his two-year deal. He will be paid $15.5 million with a chance to reach $21 million with incentives. Brissett was scheduled to make $4.88 million this year before the agreement. He's now the Cardinals' starter for 2026.

Arizona showed us what it thinks of RB Jeremiyah Love’s talent by drafting him third overall this spring, to a team with plenty of needs. But coaches aren’t doing anything to anoint him an immediate backfield leader at the start of camp. Free-agent addition Tyler Allgeier reportedly opened with the starters at the team’s first open practice, and OC Nathaniel Hackett mentioned James Conner first when asked broadly about the outlook for his 2026 backfield.

Chiefs HC Andy Reid said Friday that WR Rashee Rice (knee) “is doing great” and is “cleared to go" for the start of training camp. It was a tumultuous offseason for Rice, who had right knee surgery in mid-May and was sentenced to 30 days in jail just a few days later. But he's not expected to face further punishment from the league, and his knee appears on track for Week 1.

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes (knee) has been cleared to participate fully in training camp, HC Andy Reid said Friday. "He's been working so hard that you have a pretty good feel that he's in a good place," Reid added. "We've got to see how things go and not make any predictions about [Week 1]." Mahomes is still only a little over seven months removed from tearing his left ACL and LCL, but all signs continue to point toward him being ready for the opener. The bigger story from Friday, though, was Mahomes confirming that he plans to run less this season.

Multiple insiders expect the Seahawks to deploy another committee backfield in 2026. And that's even before RB Zach Charbonnet is ready to return from his torn ACL. Seattle spent the 32nd pick of this spring's draft on RB Jadarian Price, but RB George Holani and potentially RB Emanuel Wilson are also expected to factor in this season.

The Giants are not placing WR Malik Nabers on the physically unable to perform list at the start of training camp, according to multiple reports.

Panthers Edge Nic Scourton tore his right ACL in Thursday's practice and is likely headed for season-ending surgery, according to multiple reports. He'll get a second opinion, but these initial diagnoses rarely prove to be wrong.

RB Joe Mixon has told former Bengals teammates that he doesn't expect to play again, according to insider Aaron Wilson. Mixon missed all of 2025 with a mysterious foot injury and hasn't surfaced this offseason.

WR Tyreek Hill admitted that he still has "no power" in his surgically repaired left leg. "So it's about 10 months after doing two surgeries," Hill said in a video on Wednesday. "My left leg is the one that I injured. I have no power in my left leg, so I'm trying to regain all the power back in my left leg. But it's one day at a time."

The Seahawks announced this week that S Nick Emmanwori will open training camp on the physically unable to perform list. When I read that, I just assumed they were being cautious with the ankle injury that made him questionable for the Super Bowl but didn't keep him from playing. But ESPN's Brady Henderson reports that the second-year safety had surgery on that right ankle and is "expected to miss some time," though they anticipate he'll be ready for the regular season.

The Seahawks placed RB Zach Charbonnet on the Physically Unable to Perform list ahead of training camp. Charbonnet tore his left ACL in January during the Divisional Round, and return timelines have ranged from October to December. So this move isn't a surprise. He could come off the list at any point during camp, but that still appears unlikely. He could also open the regular season on the PUP list, which would sideline him for at least four games.

The Dolphins placed rookie WR Chris Bell on the active/non-football injury list to open training camp. Players more commonly land on the physically unable to perform list if they're not ready to practice at the outset, but Bell gets the NFI designation because his injury predated his time with the Dolphins. He's still working back from the ACL tear that ended his final college campaign. It's not yet clear how soon he'll gain full clearance.

The Patriots placed Edge Harold Landry on the physically unable to perform list for the start of training camp. It's not a surprise after Landry sat out spring workouts while working back from post-season knee surgery. He suffered the injury in October but played through it the rest of the way and delayed surgery until February, after the Super Bowl.

Lions TE Sam LaPorta has gained full clearance for the start of training camp, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. LaPorta dealt with a fully herniated disk last season that required a microdiscectomy procedure. That injury cost him the final eight games.

Training camp should give us a clearer read on Giants WR Malik Nabers’ return to action. But there’s reason to question his readiness, especially with the team offering few useful details. Nabers tore the ACL and meniscus in his right knee last September. Earlier this year, he underwent a scar-tissue cleanup procedure that might have been more significant than the label suggests.
