Dolphins HC Adam Gase said Friday that RB Arian Foster (hamstring, groin) will be a game-time decision for this weekend's tilt with the Steelers. Foster remained limited in practice this week. We'll find out his official status by noon ET on Sunday, but Foster is tough to trust in fantasy lineups at less than 100%. The matchup isn't good, either, against a Pittsburgh D allowing just 4.0 yards per carry to RBs.
Dolphins RB Arian Foster announced his retirement in a written statement on Monday. "There comes a time in every athlete's career when their ambition and their body are no longer on the same page," Foster wrote. "I've reached that point ... I know it's not commonplace to do it midseason, but my body just can't take the punishment this game asks for any longer." Foster dealt with numerous injuries throughout his 8-year career, including a torn meniscus and a torn Achilles. He mustered just 2.6 yards per carry over between 2015 and 2016. RB Jay Ajayi, riding back-to-back 200-yard games, is locked in as Miami's feature back going forward. He'll be backed up by Damien Williams and Kenyan Drake.
Dolphins HC Adam Gase admitted Monday that RB Arian Foster (groin, hamstring) is "not 100%." That was pretty evident based on Foster's usage against the Steelers yesterday: 11 snaps, 5 touches. RB Jay Ajayi, meanwhile, ripped off 204 yards and 2 scores on 25 carries. That should earn him the lead gig going forward, but we wonder if Miami will get Foster more involved when he's back to full strength.
Dolphins RB Arian Foster (hamstring, groin) is officially active for today’s game against the Steelers. Pittsburgh is tough against the run, but Foster could do some damage in the passing game. He’s a lower-end RB2 for Week 6.
Dolphins RB Arian Foster (hamstring, groin) will play against the Steelers today, according to NFL Network's Aditi Kinkhabwala. He must have checked out ok in pregame warmups. Foster figures to serve as Miami's lead back today and usually doesn't play if he's not confident in his health. But a Pittsburgh defense allowing just 4.0 yards per carry leaves Foster as a low-end RB2 for Week 6.
The Dolphins expect RB Arian Foster (groin, hamstring) to return for this weekend's game against the Steelers, according to the Miami Herald's Armando Salguero. Foster put in 3 limited practices this week but was held out of Sunday's game vs. Tennessee as Miami continued to play it safe with the oft-injured RB. Barring a setback over the next few days, he figures to be reinserted as the team's lead back. Pittsburgh is tough against the run but has allowed the 3rd most receptions and 2nd most receiving yards to RBs. Foster will be a much better Week 6 play in PPR leagues than non-PPR.
