The Jets have ruled rookie LB Darron Lee out for Sunday's game against the Ravens with the ankle injury he suffered in Monday night's loss to the Cardinals. HC Todd Bowles said that it's too early to tell whether Lee will miss time beyond this week, according to ESPN's Rich Cimini. The defense does expect to get LB David Harris back after a hamstring injury cost him Week 6. Erin Henderson and Bruce Carter also figure to remain in the LB rotation.
Jets ILB Darron Lee is inactive for today's game against the Chiefs. HC Todd Bowles reportedly decided to bench the young LB after he made a choke sign at Panthers QB Cam Newton in last week's game. Expect Lee to return for Week 14, but make sure to get him out of this week's lineups.
Update: Connor Hughes of NJ.com reports that Lee got benched for arriving late to practice Saturday. DE Muhammad Wilkerson also sat out the 1st quarter as punishment for showing up late to a meeting.
The Jets have ruled out ILB Darron Lee (ankle) for the 2nd straight game. With Bruce Carter and Erin Henderson also out, IDP owners can ignore the Jets ILB spot next to David Harris.
Darryl Slater of NJ.com says you shouldn't be surprised if Erin Henderson spends all of 2016 starting ahead of 1st-round rookie Darron Lee at ILB, next to incumbent David Harris. Slater says he envisions Lee "being a situational sub packages player who can use his lateral speed and athleticism to help the Jets in pass coverage." We'd certainly bet on Lee getting the opportunity to take the job from Henderson, who played sparingly for the Jets last year after spending 2014 out of football. But the 30-year-old spent most of the 3 seasons before that starting at multiple LB spots in Minnesota. He has been a solid -- though inconsistent -- pro. The situation is at least worth keeping in mind as you consider Lee's 2016 fantasy football prospects. The team clearly views him as a long-term starter, but don't overrate the rookie in 2016 IDP drafts.
The Jets spent the 20th pick of the 2016 NFL Draft on LB Darron Lee. The former Buckeye should start next to David Harris right away and brings the skill set of a 3-down player. He rated poorly in coverage according to Pro Football Focus, however. We'll see how he converts his talent to the pro game.
