Cruz inactive | Shark Bites | Draft Sharks

Giants WR Victor Cruz (ankle) is officially inactive for tonight's game against the Bengals. That vaults Roger Lewis into the #3 WR spot, but he'd be a desperation fantasy play. Odell Beckham, Sterling Shepard and Will Tye figure to serve as QB Eli Manning's top 3 targets tonight.

Recent Shark Bites

The Bears have released WR Victor Cruz. The writing was on the wall when the veteran suited up for Thursday night's preseason finale. Turning 31 in November and with a plethora of leg injuries behind him, Cruz has very little left in the tank. He remains off the redraft radar. Chicago's WR depth chart now reads: Kevin White, Kendall Wright, Deonte Thompson, Josh Bellamy. WR Markus Wheaton is expected to miss another week or 2 with his finger injury.

The Bears and WR Victor Cruz have agreed to a 1-year deal, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Chicago has a lot of names at WR but no sure things: Cameron Meredith, Kevin White, Kendall Wright, Markus Wheaton and Reuben Randle. There's opportunity here. But Cruz is 30 now and has struggled returning from his 2014 torn patellar tendon. We're not banking on him emerging as a fantasy factor in what figures to be a run-heavy Bears offense.

The Giants have released WR Victor Cruz. It was a no-brainer move with Cruz set to count $9.4 million against the 2017 salary cap. It's possible that the G-Men bring him back at a cheaper salary, but it shouldn't be as more than a #4 WR. The 30-year-old Cruz hauled in just 54.2% of his targets and scored 1 TD this past season. He's a long shot to re-emerge as a fantasy asset.

Giants WR Victor Cruz (ankle) is not listed on the final Week 11 injury report. He’ll play against the Bears this weekend but is just a WR4 in fantasy football. Cruz has averaged just 3.1 catches and 47.1 yards per game this year with 1 total TD.

Giants WR Victor Cruz (ankle) returned to a limited practice on Wednesday. He missed all 3 workouts last week and sat out Monday night's game against the Bengals. Cruz has a shot to play vs. the Bears this weekend, but we'll continue to track his progress over the next few days.
