Bills CB Ronald Darby has cleared the league concussion protocol, according to the team website. That should put him on track to play Sunday against the Steelers after he missed the Week 13 trip to Oakland. We'll confirm his status during the week.
The Broncos activated CB Ronald Darby from IR Saturday, making him eligible to play Sunday at Pittsburgh. The team said earlier in the week that if Darby returned, he would play limited Week 5 snaps. Expect that role to grow beyond Sunday’s game, though
The Broncos are signing CB Ronald Darby to a 3-year, $30 million deal with $19.5 million guaranteed, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Darby enjoyed a 2020 rebound in Washington after 3 injury-marred seasons in Philadelphia. Darby missed 20 of a possible 48 regular-season games over that span. Last year, he ranked 5th in the league in passes defensed, and Pro Football Focus graded him top-15 among CBs. Darby figures to land in draftable range in our 2021 IDP rankings as well.
Former Eagles CB Ronald Darby has agreed to a 1-year, $3 million deal with Washington. That's a tiny contract for a 26-year-old former 2nd-round pick who has spent his whole career starting. But it signals that Darby couldn't find more than a "prove it" deal on the open market after losing 20 games to injury over his 3 seasons in Philly. Darby served as the Eagles' top corner when healthy and could become the same for Washington. That defense has traded away CB Quinton Dunbar and released CB Josh Norman this offseason. The current roster sports only 1 corner (Fabian Moreau) who played at least 50% of Washington's defensive snaps last season. Washington also signed CB Kendall Fuller in free agency. Barring an early NFL Draft pick at the position, Fuller, Moreau and Darby look like the new top 3 corners there. Philly, meanwhile, traded for Darius Slay to take over its top CB spot. The rest of the depth chart likely has some sorting left to do.
Eagles CB Ronald Darby is active for tonight's game against the Cowboys, but it sounds like he's only an emergency option. Team insider Dave Spadaro says Darby "isn't expected to play much, if at all, unless there are injuries to CBs tonight," according to WIP's Joe Giglio. Expect Darby to find a larger role in Week 8.
Eagles CB Ronald Darby left Sunday's game with a hamstring injury. HC Doug Pederson had no update on the situation Monday, according to Dave Spadaro of the team website. Darby looks like a poor bet to make it back for Thursday night's game against the Packers. That would seem to be good news for Green Bay WR Davante Adams, but Darby hasn't been very good so far this year: 15 catches for 211 yards and 2 TDs allowed on 22 targets, according to Pro Football Focus.
