The Bills have declined the 5th-year option on WR Sammy Watkins' contract. That year -- along with the $13 or so million it would have paid him -- is guaranteed for injury only prior to the start of the 2018 league year. So Buffalo is (perhaps rightfully) worried that Watkins will suffer another serious injury. He's now set to become a free agent next offseason. Getting out of run-heavy Buffalo might help Watkins' fantasy stock. Rookie Zay Jones, meanwhile, could find himself as the Bills' #1 WR as soon as next year.
Chiefs WR Sammy Watkins (hamstring) is out for Thursday night's game against the Broncos. He returned to limited practices this week, so a return for next Sunday night's game vs. the Packers seems realistic. With Watkins out last week, the pass routes run for Kansas City's WRs went like this: Demarcus Robinson 37, Byron Pringle 29, Mecole Hardman 25, Tyreek Hill 22. Hill should be closer to a full-go in his 2nd game back from that clavicle injury. His increased playing time figures to come at the expense of Pringle and/or Hardman.
Chiefs WR Sammy Watkins (hamstring) was limited in Tuesday's practice. He reportedly has a shot to return for Thursday night's game against the Broncos -- but he'd be a much more comfortable fantasy start if he puts in a full practice tomorrow.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that Chiefs WR Sammy Watkins (hamstring) has a "good shot" to return for Thursday night's game against the Broncos. It's a bit surprising that he's expected to be ready for the short turnaround after not practicing at all last week. We'll keep a close eye on his practice participation over the next few days.
Chiefs WR Sammy Watkins (hamstring) is inactive for today’s game against the Texans. He didn’t practice all week and should be considered iffy for this Thursday night's game against the Broncos.
Chiefs WR Sammy Watkins (hamstring) is listed as doubtful for Week 6. He didn't practice all week and won't play against the Texans on Sunday. We'll see if he can make it back for this coming Thursday night's game against the Broncos.
