Branch inactive, Howard active for Dolphins | Shark Bites | Draft Sharks

Dolphins DE Andre Branch (knee) is inactive for today's game against the Bills. Rookie Charles Harris is starting in his place. CB Xavien Howard (illness) is active.

Jaguars DE Andre Branch suffered an MCL sprain Friday night and could miss a "significant" amount of time, according to The Associated Press. That makes it hard to draft the yet-unproven young player in pretty much any IDP redraft format. Chris Clemons should lead Jacksonville's "Leo" position again if he can get and stay healthy.

Jaguars DE Andre Branch hurt his left knee in Friday night's game against the Lions and will have an MRI on Saturday. “We’ve got our fingers crossed on that one,” HC Gus Bradley said, per Jacksonville.com. “We’ll see. I know he was walking around a little bit in the training room.” Branch has stepped into the "Leo" pass-rushing role with rookie Dante Fowler out for the year and veteran DE Chris Clemons missing most of the spring and summer. We'll update Branch's situation when we see a diagnosis.

The Jaguars will start Andre Branch and Tyson Alualu at DE in Friday night's exhibition opener and Ziggy Hood and Abry Jones at DT, according to Jacksonville.com. Veteran D-linemen Sen'Derrick Marks (knee), Chris Clemons (undisclosed), Roy Miller (knee) and Jared Odrick (knee) have all been ruled out. It'll be nice to see what Branch can do in a starting role, but all the injuries make it clear that we'll need to wait to see how the Jacksonville D-line settles out.

In addition to losing MLB Paul Posluszny for the rest of the season, the Jaguars announced Monday that DE Andre Branch will miss at least 6 weeks after tearing a groin muscle in Sunday's win over the Browns. It's not a huge loss for IDP owners, who can go ahead and drop the 3rd-year pass rusher in all non-dynasty setups.
