The Browns selected Florida WR Antonio Callaway in the 4th round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Callaway would have come off the board much earlier if not for off-field issues, including arrests for sexual assault and marijuana possession. He was also suspended for the entire 2017 campaign for his involvement in a credit card fraud scheme and then failed his drug test at the Combine. When on the field at Florida, Callaway averaged 15.7 yards per catch and scored 3 return TDs. The 5’11, 200-pounder registered a 44th percentile SPARQ score in the pre-draft process. If he can stay out of trouble, Callaway has a shot to make a significant impact as a pro. He joins a crowded WR corps in Cleveland, though, that also includes Josh Gordon, Jarvis Landry and Corey Coleman.
The Browns have released WR Antonio Callaway. He slipped to the the 4th round of the 2018 draft due to a plethora of off-field issues -- and that continued in Cleveland. We'll see if the 22-year-old gets another shot elsewhere. Rashard Higgins is back as the Browns' #3 WR but isn't a fantasy option unless we see this passing game get rolling.
Browns WR Antonio Callaway is a healthy scratch for today's game against the Bills. He's been serving as Cleveland's #3 WR -- a role that now figures to go back to Rashard Higgins. Higgins isn't a viable Week 10 fantasy play, but he's worth keeping an eye on today.
Browns WR Antonio Callaway has been suspended 4 games for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Callaway has already unsuccessfully tried to appeal the ban. The 22-year-old entered the league last year with major character concerns, so this shouldn't come as a major surprise. The news also explains why Callaway has been running behind WR Rashard Higgins in training camp. Higgins will open the season as Cleveland's #3 WR. Callaway isn't worth rostering redraft leagues.
Browns WRs Antonio Callaway (ankle) and Rashard Higgins (knee) are active for today’s game against the Chiefs. We’ll be curious to see how these guys and Damion Ratley are deployed behind Jarvis Landry. One or 2 of them could have a nice fantasy day in what figures to be a pass-heavy game from the Browns as they try to keep up with Patrick Mahomes and Co.
The Browns believe WRs Antonio Callaway (ankle) and Rashard Higgins (knee) will be able to play today against the Chiefs, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports. Both will test things out pregame but should be in the lineup. Neither looks like a strong fantasy option for Week 9, but Higgins is worth a stash in a situation that could quickly find him the #2 WR behind Jarvis Landry.
