Browns WR Josh Gordon announced on Monday that he'll miss the start of training camp as "part of [his] overall health and treatment plan." Gordon, of course, has long battled substance-abuse issues. He added, "I am not only doing great physically but mentally as well ... I am excited to start the season and I have every intention of being ready and available to join my teammates soon to help bring winning football to our fans." Gordon didn't reveal when he'll report to the team, though. This will obviously be a situation to monitor closely. And it's a reminder that Gordon carries tons of risk at his 4th-round ADP.
Chiefs WR Josh Gordon is a healthy scratch for tonight's Wild Card game vs. the Steelers. Tyreek Hill, Byron Pringle, Demarcus Robinson and Mecole Hardman will operate as Kansas City's top 4 WRs.
Chiefs WR Josh Gordon has landed on the COVID list after a positive test Monday. That almost certainly knocks him out for Thursday night's game against the Chargers. Gordon ran 4th among Chiefs WRs in snaps Sunday against the Raiders, just 1 snap ahead of Mecole Hardman. So his absence doesn't make much of a fantasy impact but probably helps Hardman and Demarcus Robinson a little.
Chiefs WR Josh Gordon has been promoted from the practice squad to the active roster. It makes him eligible to play vs. the Bills on Sunday night -- but doesn't guarantee that he will. Gordon shouldn't be in Week 5 fantasy lineups regardless, but he's a fine stash in deeper leagues. He's reportedly impressed since joining the team a week ago.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that Chiefs WR Josh Gordon impressed in his 1st week with the team and could be promoted to the active roster next week. "He was described looking like a No. 1 receiver, 230 pounds and fast," Rapoport writes. "One source said you would never know he's 30. He has really flashed in practice." It's an encouraging report on a guy who hasn't played in an NFL game since December 2019. We'll continue to keep a close eye on Gordon but would still only be stashing him in fantasy leagues of 12+ teams.
WR Josh Gordon is planning to sign with the Chiefs, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. It's bullish news for Gordon because of the landing spot, of course -- but also because he signed just a few days after being reinstated. That suggests there was plenty of interest in the 30-year-old. Gordon hasn't played since December 2019, so he's a total wild card. But this landing spot makes him worth a potential stash at least in deeper fantasy leagues.
Update: Gordon is being signed to Kansas City's practice squad for now, "with the goal of elevating him at some point when he gets up to speed," per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
