Eagles QB Carson Wentz (knee) has been medically cleared and will start Sunday's game against the Colts, the team announced Monday. Philly has been extremely cautious bringing Wentz back from last December's torn ACL and LCL in his left knee. He's reportedly been throwing well in practice, but his mobility inside and out of the pocket remains a question. Wentz will be a risk/reward Week 3 fantasy play in a plus matchup. His return is excellent news for the rest of the Eagles' skill-position guys. QB Nick Foles totaled 451 yards with just 1 TD and 1 INT over the first 2 weeks.
QB Carson Wentz and the Eagles have agreed to a 4-year, $128 million contract extension with nearly $108 million of it guaranteed. The extension tacks on to the final 2 years of his rookie deal, keeping Wentz in Philly through the 2024 campaign. His last 2 seasons have ended with injuries, a torn ACL and LCL in 2017 and a stress fracture in his back last year. But he's averaged 265 yards and 2.25 TDs across his last 24 games. Armed with a deep and talented group of pass-catchers, Wentz has top-5 fantasy upside in 2019 and for years to come.
Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) will have "no limitations" in OTAs this week, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "The team will be smart with him, of course, but he’s expected to be involved in the majority of all work," Rapoport adds. Wentz missed the final 3 games of last season -- plus 2 playoff games -- with a stress fracture in his back. It'll certainly be a situation to monitor this summer, but he's obviously on track to be ready for Week 1. A healthy Wentz boasts top-5 fantasy upside.
Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) is out for this weekend’s game against the Texans. Nick Foles gets the start in a plus matchup but is still just a QB2 or cheap DFS play.
Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) has been downgraded to out for Sunday night's game against the Rams. Dealing with a stress fracture in his back, Wentz seems unlikely to play again this year. QB Nick Foles gets his 3rd start of the season in Los Angeles. He struggled to a 117-0-1 passing line against the Falcons in the opener and then went for 334-1-0 vs. the Bucs in Week 2 -- a line that's less impressive than it might have seemed at the time considering what the Bucs defense has been this season. Foles is just a low-end QB2 for Week 15.
Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) is listed as doubtful for Sunday night’s game against the Rams. He did travel with the team to Los Angeles, but it’s fully expected to be Nick Foles under center. That’s a significant downgrade to all of Philly’s skill-position guys.
