Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders injured his left leg in Wednesday's practice. "Not putting any weight on his left leg. Not good," The Athletic's Nicki Jhabvala tweeted. We'll update Sanders' status when we learn more, but he obviously appears to be in danger of missing this weekend's game against the 49ers. His absence would leave Courtland Sutton as Denver's #1 WR, with DaeSean Hamilton and Tim Patrick behind him on the depth chart.
Update: ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the team believes Sanders tore his Achilles. That'd be a season-ending injury. We'll look for confirmation.
Dan Fetes of 13 WHAM in Rochester reports that WR Emmanuel Sanders has agreed to a deal with the Bills. Sanders caught 61 balls for 726 yards and 5 TDs over 14 games with the Saints last season. He heads into his age-34 season with a Bills offense that released John Brown after the season. Sanders figures to battle Gabriel Davis for the 3rd WR spot alongside Stefon Diggs and Cole Beasley. Whoever wins will carry some late-round, week-to-week upside in fantasy football drafts.
New Orleans released WR Emmanuel Sanders. It saves the cash-strapped Saints $4 million against the 2021 salary cap. Sanders saw 82 targets -- a 15.7% share -- last year, so his departure leaves behind significant opportunity. We'll see what else New Orleans does at the position, but WR Tre'Quan Smith is currently in line for #2 WR duties.
Saints WR Emmanuel Sanders (COVID) is expected back for Week 9, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. WR Michael Thomas (hamstring, ankle) seems to be trending toward returning for that one, too. It's all good news for QB Drew Brees, although Thomas' return would keep Sanders' target projection in check.
Saints WR Emmanuel Sanders has been placed on the COVID list. He'll miss Sunday's game against the Panthers -- and potentially more action beyond that. We'll see if WR Michael Thomas (hamstring, ankle) is able to play this weekend.
ESPN's Josina Anderson reports that the Saints have agreed to a 2-year deal with WR Emmanuel Sanders. The 33-year-old veteran enters an offense that needs options. Michael Thomas drew a dominating 31.8% of Saints targets last season, nearly doubling #2 Alvin Kamara. Jared Cook ranked 3rd, another 32 targets behind Kamara. There's room for Sanders to rank 2nd among Saints in targets in 2020 and top 100. He's a solid target for best-ball fantasy football drafts now before he climbs into the single-digit rounds.
