Coleman does not practice Thursday | Shark Bites | Draft Sharks

Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (groin) was listed as "did not participate" in Thursday's practice. It's a surprise after HC Dan Quinn said earlier in the day that Coleman would put in a limited workout. It now looks like he won't be available for this weekend's game against the Bucs, leaving Brian Hill as Atlanta's lead back.

The Athletic's Matt Barrows expects RB Tevin Coleman to remain the 49ers starter this season. "[HC] Kyle Shanahan and [RBs coach] Bobby Turner liked starting games with Coleman because he’s a little bigger and more physical runner than the others," Barrows writes. "So my guess is that the arrangement will be the same as last season: Coleman starts, with Turner then using his feel for who’s hot that day dictating the snap loads for the rest of the game." Who gets the 1st snap in San Francisco's backfield is hardly relevant. But the takeaway here is that this remains a committee attack with Coleman, Raheem Mostert and potentially Jerick McKinnon. We're shying away from Mostert at his RB26 ADP. Coleman is a better value at RB38.

49ers RB Tevin Coleman (shoulder) isn't listed on the final Super Bowl injury report after putting in a full practice on Friday. Raheem Mostert figures to get the 1st crack at lead duties after his massive NFC Championship, but this has been a hot-hand backfield for most of the season.

49ers RB Tevin Coleman (shoulder) got in a limited practice on Wednesday. He was knocked out of the NFC Championship with a dislocated shoulder but seemingly has a shot to play in Sunday's Super Bowl. We'll update his status again tomorrow.

49ers RB Tevin Coleman was knocked out in the 1st quarter of Sunday' NFC Championship with a shoulder injury. We don't have any further details at this point, but HC Kyle Shanahan believes Coleman has a shot to be ready for the Super Bowl. "I’m hoping he’ll be all right next week," Shanny said. "I don’t totally know yet. I know he’s not ruled out or anything. I think there will be a good chance (for him to go)." We won't get any official practice updates from the 'Niners until next week. The backfield has been the ultimate hot-hand situation this postseason, with Coleman controlling in the Divisional Round and Raheem Mostert exploding for a 29-220-4 rushing line in the win over the Packers.

Update: Shanahan said Monday afternoon that Coleman dislocated his shoulder and reiterated that Coleman has a chance to play in the Super Bowl.

Niners RB Tevin Coleman is active for tonight's game against the Browns. It will mark his 1st game back since suffering a high-ankle sprain in the opener. With Coleman back, RB Jeff Wilson is inactive -- a healthy scratch. That leaves the backfield as Coleman, Raheem Mostert and Matt Breida.
