Sheard set to return vs. Raiders | Shark Bites | Draft Sharks

Colts DE Jabaal Sheard will make his season debut today against the Raiders. He's active for the 1st time following a summer knee injury that required surgery. Sheard still hasn't returned to full practice, and we wouldn't bet on a big role for him today. We'll be curious to track his participation and progress, though.

Colts DE Jabaal Sheard recently had knee surgery to address an unspecified injury that has kept him out for nearly all of training camp, Mike Chappell of Fox59 reports. Sheard took part in the team's 1st camp practice back on July 25 but has been sidelined since then. Indy has offered no timeline yet for his return. We'll watch for more details on Sheard's situation. Kemoko Turay and Al-Quadin Muhammad are the 2nd-team DEs, according to the team's initial "unofficial" depth chart.

The Patriots didn't bother to bring DE Jabaal Sheard to San Francisco this weekend for Sunday's game against the 49ers. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that they left him behind because of disappointment with his performance. This follows in line with the role flips for Sheard and 2nd-year DE Trey Flowers over the past couple of weeks. Sheard's deactivation only further cements Flowers' role for this week (while enhancing his outlook beyond Week 11).

Patriots DE Jabaal Sheard is dealing with a sprained MCL, according to Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald. He suffered the injury in the preseason opener, though this is the 1st time we have seen it specified. Sheard is expected to need 2-4 weeks for recovery, which could threaten his season opener, though the team reportedly doesn't view it as "overly serious." We'll keep an eye on the return of this potential breakthrough IDP, but we nudged him down the IDP rankings this morning.

The Patriots will get DE Jabaal Sheard back for today's game against the Giants. He had been out since the win at Indy with an ankle sprain.

Patriots DE Jabaal Sheard is questionable for Sunday against the Giants. He put in limited practices all week after missing the past 3 games. His return would only help a pass rush that already sits tied for 2nd in the league in sacks.
