Chiefs LB Anthony Hitchens (groin) is inactive for today's game against the Texans. His absence pushes Ben Niemann into the starting lineup.

Recent Shark Bites

Chiefs LB Anthony Hitchens put in full practices Tuesday and Wednesday, and the team left him off the final injury reports. He should be set to return Thursday night against the Broncos from the groin injury that cost him Week 6. That will push Ben Niemann back to a small role. He played just 13, 15 and 13 snaps the 3 games before Hitchens left early in Week 5. The Chiefs will miss CB Kendall Fuller (thumb) and DT Chris Jones (groin) against Denver, however. CB Bashaud Breeland is questionable for the game despite not having an injury. He did not travel with the team, but the Broncos have so far given no details on the corner's situation.

Chiefs LB Anthony Hitchens left Sunday night's game against the Colts in the 1st half with a groin injury. The team deemed him questionable to return.

Update: K.C. has ruled Hitchens out for the game.

Despite being active for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, Chiefs ILB Anthony Hitchens didn't play a snap. There didn't appear to be any report from the team beforehand that this would be the case. Hitchens has been dealing with a rib injury, but he played through a "questionable" tag in Week 9 and re-entered that game after appearing to aggravate it. He then put in limited practices this week. We'll see if better info precedes next Monday's clash with the Rams.

Chiefs ILB Anthony Hitchens (rib), OLB Justin Houston (hamstring) and S Daniel Sorensen (knee) are active for today’s game against the Cardinals. Hitchens is the only real IDP option here. There’s pass-rushing upside to Houston, but we can’t count on his normal snap allotment.

Chiefs ILB Anthony Hitchens (ribs) is active for today's game against the Browns. That makes him available for IDP usage, but he carries risk. Along with the durability question attached to his rib injury, Hitchens played just 65% and 75% of the defensive snaps the past 2 weeks (though the 2nd game found him leaving early with the injury).
