Rams RB Malcolm Brown (ankle) practiced all week and isn’t listed on the final injury report. He’ll return for Sunday’s game against the Steelers. We’ll see how Brown and Darrell Henderson divvy up work behind Todd Gurley, but neither Brown nor Henderson can be trusted in Week 10 fantasy lineups.
Dolphins RB Malcolm Brown (quad) is expected to return to practice this week, according to The Miami Herald's Barry Jackson. Brown's status has suddenly become important with RBs Myles Gaskin, Salvon Ahmed and Phillip Lindsay on the COVID list. Brown has been out since Week 7 but could play a significant role vs. the Jets on Sunday. We probably won't have a good idea of what Miami's backfield will look like for that one until late in the week.
Dolphins RB Malcolm Brown will be placed on IR with a quad injury suffered in Sunday's loss to the Falcons, HC Brian Flores said Monday. Brown will be out at least the next 3 weeks vs. the Bills, Texans and Ravens. He's played 28% of Miami's offensive snaps and averaged 4.7 carries and .7 targets per game, so his absence leaves behind a little extra work for RBs Myles Gaskin and Salvon Ahmed.
Dolphins RB Malcolm Brown started Saturday's preseason opener vs. the Bears. Per Pro Football Focus' Nathan Jahnke, Brown out-snapped RB Myles Gaskin 16 to 7 with the 1st-team offense. Gaskin then played into the 2nd quarter with Miami's backups. "You saw all 3 backs played, all 3 of them got carries," HC Brian Flores said after the game, referring to Brown, Gaskin and Salvon Ahmed. "Pick one out and put them in, basically. We like all 3 guys. They all do good things. And I think we saw that today. And [we'll] just keep working all 3 guys." That sure sounds like this will be an ugly committee backfield. We'll get another look at the rotation in Miami's 2nd preseason game. But, for now, we've moved Gaskin well down the RB rankings and Brown up.
The Dolphins are signing RB Malcolm Brown, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Brown set career highs last year in carries (101), rushing yards (419) and all receiving categories (33 targets, 23 catches, 162 yards). His departure leaves Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson more room in the Rams backfield for now. Miami has been commonly linked to the top incoming rookie RBs in mock drafts. We'll be curious to see how else they address a backfield that was dominated by Myles Gaskin in 2020.
Rams RB Malcolm Brown fractured a pinky in Sunday's win over the Eagles, HC Sean McVay told Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic. McVay said it won't cost Brown any further time. We'll see how the RBs split work after Henderson's strong Week 2 and Cam Akers' return from Sunday's rib injury.
